Red Frog Beach Island Resort

We were very impressed with the Red Frog Beach accommodations. It was a full size 2 bedroom home with a great room. The kitchen had a fabulous island for entertaining. Just off the great room was a fully covered patio that was completely furnished. The bed rooms were ample size both having en-suite baths. A plus was a private pool. The water was air temperature so perfect.

I had a strange filling in this Hotel. Actually, you have to take a boat for 10 minutes from Bocas main island. You are received at the marina and you get a golfkart to drive to your villa. We had choosed a shared villa. For the richest you can get your private villa. The villas are very big. you have even a small swimming pool per villa. All the villas are neighboor. It has been built like the Desperate Housewife town. It's not what I was expecting at all. On the other side, the complex has two "restaurants". They are not at all at the same quality level as the villas. The main restaurant looks like a cafeteria for teenager camp. The other is a beach restaurant, which is like a real beach restaurant. On the beach, you don't have sunbathseats. The Staff was very helpful. The villas rooms very cleen except under our bed (where it was apparently not done before we get in). During our stay, the cleening was not done. When you want to go on the main island to have dinner, you have to pay 10$/pers (return included) to the hotel boat.. Otherwise the other hotel gests are only US people. In average I think it's too expensive for what it is.

Beautiful beaches and wonderful trails to hike on the island. This is a good place to go if you love nature and exploration.

Takes 2 boat rides to get here. Soaked and left at the dock. No one to direct you to reception which is a distance up a dirt road. We gave them our confirmation # , they indicated no booking. We booked a queen, villa private pool. Sent us across to another building, locked(all this in pouring rain) wait After 45 minutes, back to orig. building and they said no booking. All day,pouring rain. Told to go to the "restaurant" and wait another long hike. He agreed to drive us with our luggage. At the restaurant, they were out of most food. Were told they would be back in 40 minutes. 2 1/2 hours before we managed to get someone back to get us. They said they found our reseravation and blamed hotels.com for the confusion. I have never had a problem before. Up the hills on the dirt roads in a golf cart in the rain and arrive at "our villa" Opened the door and there were 3 other couples in the villa and our room was at the top of the marble stairs. Not anticipated. I cannot maneuver stairs. Back to reception. Manager indicated it was Hotels.com to blame for our misunderstanding, that we rented a queen bed in a villa with a private pool. Choose carefully. Be aware cost for cart rental. This is a Jurasic park experience,suited for those wanting a walking nature experience. Do not expect delux treatment. If you go, make sure you pick up supplies in Bocas Del Toro as there is nothing available once you get to Red Frog.

The "hardware" is excellent but the service very poor; it was impossible to get in contact with the staff by phone or mail! Enrique saved us from a unpleasent stay, he did everything to correct the mistakes of other people and was a very pleasant host!

We had an amazing time here! The villas were beautiful and worth every penny. Even though it rained half the time we didn't mind because it was very comfortable to relax in the villa.

The place is beautiful, the villas are very well equipped, but the customer service very poor, for example to meet you at the villa took more than 45 minutes in an uncomfortable and unconditional reception, every time I needed something but they said that if you did not arrive, the last day did not appear to receive life and I'm still waiting for the state of mind that would be immediately sent to my email address

Brand new houses, wonderful beaches, everything you need from a private residence. Rent a golf cart to travel around to the beaches and marina, it's a lot of walking. Watch out for the sand flies they can be brutal. Great island getaway. Good price for a private pool overlooking the jungle and ocean.
