A boutique motel in the heart of the Southern Ocean Road. Room design, amenities of high quality. Staff is very friendly and exceptionally easy to communicate with them.

Room 1 at Portside was easily the best motel room I have ever stayed in. It was much more spacious than usual, with thoughtful furnishings such as two comfy armchairs in front of the TV. with a small table between for coffee or wine glasses. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The provision of good real coffee or other hot drinks via a machine in reception is a bonus.

The only downside, as mentioned by other reviewers, was the poor water pressure in the shower. Other taps in kitchen and bathroom had good water pressure, so I suspect it is the shower head, which surely could be easily fixed
