Nautilus Surf & Yoga Villas Santa Teresa

I’m torn on how to rate this hotel. The positives were that the staff was very nice and the apartment we stayed in (number 1) was kept very clean by housekeeping. Also, I heard a few guests complain about the bugs, but I cannot fault the hotel staff. We are in the middle of the jungle! However, we had several problems while staying. First, the shower did not work at all. We alerted the staff who stated this was normal for Santa Teresa due to water pressure. However, we were in for a wedding and spoke to at least 6 different groups of friends who were staying within 500-700 meters of our hotel location and stated they had no problem with water pressure (we even took video to show the poor pressure), so we had to shower at our friend’s hotel. Also, the WIFI did not work in our apartment. We had to go outside to use the WIFI. Also, the pool was not in service due to maintenance issues for one of the days we tried to use it. The other two days it was quite dirty with debris, I’m guessing it was related to the pool maintenance issue. This hotel has a lot of wonderful ratings, so I’m guessing it just happened to be poor for our personal experience. For the price we paid, and what we received, I would not come back again.

Nice place to spending your vacation or take a quick break

A wonderful and straightforward hassle free place to stay and enjoy the Costa Rican coast.....The food at Olam is wholesome and healthy and the breakfast sets you up for the day. We did stand up paddle boarding, never done it before, or surfed, I will certainly do it again, good workout, my core got a beasting.... Accommodation is spacious, well equipped, clean and comfy. The yoga deck is up in the trees, well kitted out and the instructors are wonderful, informative and patient. especially the less flexible like me. Guest service from the staff couldn't be better, attention to every detail, advice and information, a happy and well organised team. Highly recommended....

Beautiful hotel, amazing staff all willing to help with activities and excursions , know everything in the area. Olam is a vegan vegetarian restaurant serving the best Shakshuka . The villa is set within the jungle .listening to the wildlife on the yoga deck whilst having a massage and yoga. Best holiday yet 😎

Sewer gas smell was unreal and ruined our experience. The hotel reimbursed us half of the stay but I still feel ripped off considering the Expedia rating for this hotel.

horrible smell through the villa. One room smells worse than the other. Smelled like sewage and got worse overnight.

Close to the beach with beautiful rooms. The organic vegan food was a real plus here. The only negative is the kitchens in your rooms are not well equipped and the stove takes at least 20 minutes to even boil water so not good if you are trying to cook! Yoga upstairs was refreshing and the staff were very helpful.

I highly recommend Nautilus. The smoothies are delicious, the staff is kind and helpful, the yoga is wonderful, and there is a real sense of community at the hotel. I would return in a heartbeat! I loved the yoga jungle deck and variety of classes offered. It was my first time traveling alone and I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff and their interest in helping me to best experience Santa Teresa!

Our trip to Santa Teresa was all about unwinding from work. This was the perfect place for that. The town is so incredibly chill - this hotel included. Outside of the bugs and birds at night our stay was extremely peaceful. The room was clean and every staff member was incredibly helpful. If you want the full zen experience, take advantage of the daily yoga and smoothie bar.
