FRthe room was lovely and ridiculously spacious with a beautiful view. everything was very clean and comfortable. a generous breakfast and dinner were included, with plenty of different options. the outdoor onsen was lovely as well. i can’t speak for a summer stay, as i came in january, but keep in mind this place is very remote and in winter, nothing around is open aside from a few corner shops. this, to me, was a surprising but pleasant experience - i truly felt i was in japan, not in a tourist town. however, i must say, i believe it is an entirely different matter in the summer.
i came in here in winter - very much not peak season, so i had trouble getting to the hotel. over the phone, i was told i needed to find my own way and no one could help me with which buses to take / getting a taxi. i ended up having to stay a night in the neighbouring town before making it up there, and wasn’t granted a refund for my night. this was less than ideal. however, once i got there, staff were lovely to me and i had a quiet, easy stay.
