The Island Hotel Near Beach Port Aransas

The overall experience was less than desirable. Over powering smell of Clorox when we opened our room door that we felt nauseous. Furniture looked like it came from the trash pile, mold around the ceiling light fixture, hair in the bath tub and hair on the fresh towels. Disgusting! The pet area probably wasn’t mowed in at least 3 months, infestation of mosaics is a health hazard for Lyme disease, the container for the pet feces was packed full and also bags lying on the ground, another health issue for humans and pets. Asked for a refund to move to a different motel for the rest of our stay and was denied by the maintenance man who was all up in my business and never introduced himself to me which was very unprofessional and disrespectful. The manager told other guests from a different room they could sit and smoke in front of our motel room door. Who does this? I am sure there are code violation at that motel.

Location was great, bathroom was fantastic room was big

The queen bed in the living room was FULL of sand like the bed wasn’t ever changed prior to our stay. The “cleaning” staff which I’m pretty sure were the owners came quickly, but it was a very awkward moment and full of excuses. The utensils in the kitchen didn’t even cover the 5 people we had and very few other kitchen items.

Convenient location

This hotel isn’t fancy but it is nice for a visit to the beach.

Pet friendly, laid back atmosphere, helpful staff, cold a/c, clean rooms , good parking , easy access to beach and on road

Staff very helpfully and ready to attend my needs they gave me helpfully directions abiut the city and beach Awesome job by tracy

Bed was made nice but our floor was really sandy as if no one vacuumed or mopped. Shower had mold tv didn’t work

Great location to beach, not over crowded, great parking
