Nice hotel, attentive & helpful staff. Well appointed room. Breakfast made to order & was excellent. Very nice first visit to the area & we’ll be back

Helpful staff and good meal in bar. I was pleased to see the distinctive 'Sanquhar pattern' used in the decoration

No window in the bedroom. Not a major issue, but not mentioned on booking

Breakfast was first class

Stairs to rooms, evening meal of fish not great, water pressure, smell in bathroom we had to leave window open, also not informed of party with late licence, also wrong info about extra cost of cooked breakfast.

The Nithsdale Hotel is a lovely place to stay, Staff were very friendly and took time to show me around the facilities. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated and comfortable. My room (Room 8) was to the back of the building and was very quiet, even though the bar was busy.

Would have loved a wee biscuit to go with the tea/coffee in the room. I arrived late at night and the car pack signs were a little difficult to see.

Location was fabulous. The staff and food were lovely.

We were in room 14 which was comfortable. However there is no water pressure to have a shower or even a bath. Half the ceiling lights didn’t work and the plug for the sink didn’t fit properly and so even trying to wash was difficult as the water drained away.

Great location, bit of Beatles history which wife loved. Friendly staff. Good location for cycle track to a nearby village.
