Hotel The Marquee

The Hotel lies at the outskirts of Castelnuovo and if you want to walk to the centre it will take you about 15 minutes. I always liked this stroll. The landlord is a polite, helpful person who speaks very good English. Breakfast is served with a few options, so not the usual buffet version. I quite enjoy it when I don't have to move several times till I have everything! There is a garden with trees under which you can park your car. All in all, it was a good choice for me who came to this area for some hiking in the really beautiful mountains!

Nice location, comfortable and clean room

Single room booked in March for arrival in June, which then was not available. Given double room instead and had to listen to the constant and daily complaints by the owner, which was absolutely no fault of mine!

The location of the premises was excellent, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The swimming pool was particularly enjoyable and had a protective fence around it for child safety. The breakfast, served in an Italian style, was very delicious.

Location. Room was very clean.

Shower was small and floor was very very slippery. A potential safety hazard. Breakfast was as served at table and “measured out”. One croissant per person. I had to ask for another cup of coffee. Upon checking in, the manager tried to put me in a room with my friend. We explained that we had completely separate bookings. Manager got upset when I came to check out saying that I had to pay. I assured him that I knew I had to pay as that was what it said on the Booking.com email confirmation. He became more agitated and I had to ask him if he had a problem as I was well aware that I had to pay and did not have any problem. It was a bit of a strange experience. A Basil Fawlty experience.

The owner is very kind, pleasant attentive and helpful gentlemen. Good breakfast and service overall.

Quite dated rooms, very tiny shower cabin. Walls are very thin. 25 min walk from Castalnuovo center, at times you have to walk on the road with cars passing by at high speed.
