Hampton Inn & Suites Wiggins

Hotel was clean but older and needing updates.

I did not like it. The experience was downright bad.

The room had bedbugs. I had to treat my car, luggage, and belongings. I even brought a live bedbug to the manager. I took photos of the live insect and of what looks like bug dander in the flat sheet of the bed. The manager offered me a refund or discount and then said she couldn't after I kept calling and leaving my information for 4 days. I never got any calls back. She said because i booked through booking.com that i could not get a refund. The floors felt disgusting, and I had to wear socks and shoes the whole time in our room.The ice machine on the 3rd and 4th floor were broken, and their pool was out of order during our stay as well. I thought the Hampton would have some standards over the only 2 or 3 hotels in the area, but the experience was horrible, and the price was outrageous for what we got. It is also difficult to receive help at the front desk. Most of the time, when I walked past the desk, a staff member was not in sight. When I brought the bed bug to the counter, I had to call to the back for a representative to come help me.

The hotel staff was amazing and so was the free breakfast.

The bathtub did not drain so when u showered you had to stand in water. We went to the beach so we took showers everyday and they dont replace towels or anything everyday. We called and asked for towels, we didnt not get towels till the next eveing. Our rooms garbage was not taken out the beds weren't made, they brought towels and that was it.

The pool was out of service for 4th of July weekend.

My fifth, or sixth time staying here -- 3-6 days each time -- was the most disappointing yet. According to the pool repairman, a history of poor maintenance is the reason the pool was closed for the entire July 4th week. Not "it's the rain" excuse from staff (otherwise very nice folks)...as if it never rains here? Breakfast continues to slide down the standards ladder. If only there were an alternative!

We specifically booked this hotel to take our grandchildren swimming but upon check-in, were told that the pool was closed because it was green. The trip was non-refundable per Booking.com’s policy. We had to find another hotel with a pool for our stay.

This hotel was amazing! The room itself was spacious, breakfast was beyond good, plus they had a snack area at night. The only complaint I have which was complete let down. No where did it say that the pool would be closed for maintenance on a Saturday in 95 degree weather. Keep in mind, we picked this hotel for the pool alone. My son does tournament ball and at the end of it that’s exactly what he wants to do. Jump in that pool. Other than that, we obviously got over it and would give this hotel another shot. Everything else out ranked it. I would just asked that the hotel would do pool maintenance during the week when most people work. Not on a Saturday!

Nice property and beds were comfortable.

Very thin walls between rooms. Could hear a child next door to us run up and down the length of the room yelling well into the night and early in the morning. The phone in the room was not working to call front desk. Some type of family event was being held in the lobby.
