"Excellent location and friendly staff"

8.0

The location is excellent, being right in the centre of the town and close to all the attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a nicely furnished residents' lounge, a free internet facility and a bar which is self service, something that I have not come across before. You serve yourself and fill in a form for anything consumed, which is then added to your bill. Rooms are just slightly dated but all in all, this is a nice place to stay.

"Cute place to stay"

8.0

This place is very very cute. I raved about it to friends before I left. However, it is cute and quaint and might not be for everyone. My room was European sized (small) which was fine for me. I am 5'6" and my feet hung off the edge of the antique bed. Also, couldn't get the internet in my room. The location was great, the price was good, and it was a charming place to stay .

"Cute hotel, great breakfast room"

For $25 a night this is great value. So close to everything you need to see in Tomar. The breakfast room is lovely with plenty of sunshine.

"Excellent location"

10.0

Apart from a mix-up with the availability of 24 hours manned reception I found this residencial wonderful. The building itself is very old and grand, and the interior communal spaces echo this. My room at the front appeared to have been newly decorated - there are ongoing refurbishments - with simple decor, beautiful and comfortable bed and good quality bedding, high traditional wooden ceilings and carpeted floor for your comfort. The window shutters functioned well with the double glazed windows to cut out any noise there may have been from the central drag where this is situated. Visiting in January the temperature drops considerably after sundown, so the extremely efficient radiator in my room was most welcome. My bug bear in hotel accommodation is that there is never a socket near enough to a mirror so that you can use electrical hair appliances - I was pleased to see that this was not the case in my room. The bathroom was adequately sized and a generous selection of fresh towels and bath mat are provided daily. The overbath shower was very powerful and wonderfully hot. Soap dispensers are provided both adjacent to the wash hand basin and on the wall adjacent to the bath tub, Continental breakfast was provided, including fresh fruit and nuts, if required. There is also a large guest lounge providing a large television and generous seating, with a selection of reading materials for guests to use. WiFi is available throughout, my room television had terrestrial stations, but I don't know if the guest TV had the same system. The staff were friendly, it appeared very clean and neat and overall presents very well. All in all, I think this is a wonderful residencial and would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend it to others.

"Very good value"

10.0

Situated right in the old part of town, short distance from the station (but no free car parking) friendly staff, cheerful breakfast room and satisfying breakfast ; wi-fi free but signal not strong enough in room but OK in large lounge with enough privacy. Can walk up to castle and monastery from hotel. Really good value. Note: the hotel does not have facilities to take credit cards but there is an ATM across the street.

"Central location in Tomar"

10.0

Very good hotel for the price. Pleasant and helpful staff, central location, nice breakfast. Our room was clean and just big enough. It faced onto the main pedestrianised street and that meant that it was noisy at night. The double glazed windows kept most of the noise out but if this might be an issue for you, I suggest that you ask for a room round the back. We parked our car a few streets away beside the Varzea Grande.
