"Cozy, mellow, and welcoming"

10.0

I couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay than the Blue House, located a short bus ride from downtown. From the fresh-baked bread to the friendly vibe among everyone there, I had a great time. Zeno had lots of great ideas for places to eat and things to do, and he and his team made me feel very welcome in Iceland. while at the Blue House, be sure to visit the neighbourhood pool, hot pots, and sauna.

"Nice guesthouse"

10.0

Our stay at the Blue House was perfect. We stayed in the ground floor room and everything was good...just the size of the room was a bit small but overall I would suggest this guesthouse to everyone because you feel like at home!

"a cosy hotel"

10.0

The hotel was very nice and felt really homey. Only drawback is the slight remoteness from Reykjavik. There is nothing (food, bars) around the hotel and it's little too far for walking just to the city. With a car that one probably anyway needs it doesn't really matter. I would recommend this place to anybody.

"Very Nice Stay"

10.0

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night while on vacation. The stay was great. We felt right at home. The owner was very hospitable and let us stay a couple of hour later than checkout as we waited for our flight. A separate company helps service this place with a shuttle to KEF for approx $25 (very reasonable) There is a great selection of reading material too. It is a very quaint bed a breakfast. Our only difficulty with the stay is the location. To get to downtown Reykavik you need to either take a bus or taxi, or be prepared for a 45 min walk. If you like to walk though, there is a beautiful walk around the peninsula nearby and along the beach.

"Good value, nice stay outside the city"

8.0

We enjoyed our stay at the blue house. It is a small b&b about 10 minutes outside of Reykjavik on a peninsula with a very nice walking path along the ocean. There is a city bus that goes into town. We booked a few tours and they had a hard time finding the place, so it was helpful that we had the exact address and it's location on a map. It was helpful to be able to use the house's kitchen for dinners. The breakfast is a serve yourself selection of cereals, coffee, juices and fruit. The beds are comfortable, the bedding might be a bit old. You can hear a lot of noise in the house from other rooms, but the other guests were relatively quiet so it wasn't a big issue. It was good value overall.

"Comfortable. Clean."

8.0

Comfortable. Quiet. Only a few guestrooms available, which makes it more home-like and quiet. Clean accommodations - private room, shared bathroom, shared kitchen. I appreciated that it was not located right in the heart of the busy traffic of the City and yet still accessible, 10 minute drive away. Quiet neighbourhood. I would recommend this to other travelers.

"Great Place to Stay "

10.0

Wonderful place, host extremely helpful. Very comfortable and great to be sleeping in a double bed after all those single beds in Iceland. Host rescued us after we had got off the bus six stops too soon!

"Ok hotel. Bus ride to city center."

6.0

I had to wait on doorstep 1/2 hour in the rain after I had called and told the owner I was coming . I received an argument that afternoon meant 4pm, not 2:30p in Iceland. There was a door code that the owner could have given me to make my wait comfortable, since I had reservations . Breakfast was a self service affair with meager provisions . OJ was watered sweet drink.

"Great guesthouse with awesome host"

10.0

The guesthouse is located a little outside of central Reykjavik, maybe about a 15 minute drive away. It's quite nice to get out of the main city, especially when there is a picturesque lighthouse nearby, perfect for watching the sunset. The host, Zeno, is wonderful and very flexible. He helped us map out our trip, including giving us some great suggestions for sites we didn't know about. The room and bathroom were clean and updated. Our room also included an Apple TV, which we used to stream youtube videos one night. The wifi is also superb. Breakfast is serve yourself bread, meats, cheeses, jams, and cereal -- very typical.

"So much better than a hotel"

10.0

This place is perfect if you want a relaxing stay at an affordable price and aren't bothered about being in the city centre. At the Blue House you get an ocean view, homemade bread and kitchen access, comfortable beds and a lovely warm sitting room. There is a bus to take you into the city centre at the end of the street, so you're only 15min away from the main sightseeing spots. And the Blue House itself is in a lovely location on the western peninsula, a short stroll from a beach.
