"Exceptional"

10.0

The hospitality of the owners was amazing. We could try local wine (port) and home cooked pastries free of charge. The breakfast was one of the best that we had during our travels.

"Rustic charm"

10.0

We had a one night stay while visiting wineries in the Douro Valley. Kind, helpful hosts. Felt more like a bnb than a hotel. Rustic but clean home in tiny Portuguese village. The breakfast was an amazing spread with lots of home cooked cakes and bread, figs from the garden and way more than i could list and way more than we could eat! The streets n the village are beyond small, so either bring a small car or be prepared for a slightly stressful drive trying to get to the house. English was limited, but the owners could converse easily in Spanish and we're incredibly helpful and attentive.

"Authentic Portuguese B&B"

10.0

The hosts were amazing: so kind and thoughtful. Very enjoyable stay. Beautiful breakfast spread (buy her homemade jams) and comfortable, clean house. Please note this is very rural and somewhat rustic, but it's a wonderfully authentic old school B&B. The old village is fun to explore. Great value and cultural experience.

"Lovely!"

8.0

We stayed here during a visit to the Duoro valley and loved it. Our host/inn-keeper took lots of time to suggest itineraries and routes and restaurants that would maximize our stay. Our GPS did get a little confused finding our way to the hotel as it is actually in Ariceras (not Armamar). Once we figured that out it was easy to find the road and the signs brought us the rest of the way.
