"For a one night stopover it was adequate as parking good, location decent and the food was good - need to address the st"

Had a good carvery and parking really convenient. Also staff were really friendly at front desk and in the restaurant.

Shower was blocked in the morning quite badly / also didn’t appear to have mattress protector which was odd? also personal bug bear was tables not cleared in the bar area …it’s a small space so shows up - considering drinks are very expensive.

We had a one night stay in between our 2 day Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge. Callum went out of his way to make us comfortable and waited patiently as we were so late! (2am!) And there was a bath! ❤️ Thank you for everything.

"A pleasant stay overall"

Staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful and very informative. Room service knocked every morning to top up beverages or change towels, which was very nice. Room was clean and spacious and the shower was hot and powerful. Their carvery was excellent as was their breakfast selection.

My room was very cold especially in the evening. Cooked breakfast was nice but not always very hot even though I varied breakfast time and the bacon was cooked to death

"Noisy but good!"

A small group of us went yesterday for the carvery lunch which was very good. Great variety of tasty vegetables and a very good selection of nicely cooked meats and generous portions. Luckily we booked for an early lunch as the dining hall is massive and by 1.30 pm it was filling up rapidly. And this is sadly the downside of dining there as the noise level completely spoils the occasion as we just couldn’t hear ourselves speak . You could not fault the carvery which is obviously why it’s so popular but to us it had the ambiance of a dining room in a retirement home. The hotel itself has been updated and is very welcoming but the decor throughout is very institutionalised and would look we thought so much brighter if below the dado rail it was painted a different colour. Because walking around the long corridors that are all one colour was like being in a hospital not a hotel!
