We had 'standard' rooms, i.e. not the ones with the private pools. The main pool is just superb, and we often had it entirely to ourselves, so felt this was a good choice. The rooms were great, food was great and choices extensive. We thought meal prices were very reasonable for a self-contained place. This is essentially a place to kick back and relax, and made a great last stop before heading home. The Christmas eve entertainment was simple but stylish and was performed with enthusiasm and great spirit.
The room with a private pool is an excellent option. We thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay. Staff is very friendly and the food is superb. Peaceful location with long beaches are other plus points.

We had a great stay at Saman Villas, and we had fantastic service from the day we booked and all through our stay. The whole hotel was very clean. The garden and pool area was really calm and relaxing.The view from the room was fantastic. The restaurant had a good variaty on the menu, so even though we had all our meals at the hotel we did not eat the same once. We even got married in Saman Villas, and only by comunicating by mail two weeks before we arrived they managed to make the day more special and even better than what I planned.
Excellent resort for couples. Staff - exceptional, friendly, not overbearing. Airport pickup was pleasant and efficient with an ad hoc stop to pickup some local fruit for us to try. Checkin smooth and fast with a welcome sparkling wine and fruits served on arrival. Room - clean and comfortable with an opened bathroom. Balcony with seaviews (like all rooms) perfect for the complimentary afternoon tea. Delicious and plentiful meals with a good bar. Infinity pool is stunning with excellent views of the ocean. Location of the resort on a rocky promontory means access to 2 beaches which were both beautiful and peaceful. The sea was rough due to the low/monsoon season but fun and warm. Complimentary spa massage was wonderful. We had so many little things added on such as gift sweets and a personalised souvenir which really made us feel pampered and special. A perfect stay at the start of our honeymoon.
Very hard to find any fault in this hotel. The staff were excellent, the food was superb and the hotel had an very attractive and well designed lay out. All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time here.
Amazing retreat with all the luxury and charm you've ever looked for. Private modern bungalows with "outside" bathroom and all other amenities you seek. Location is one of the best I've ever seen on top of a small cliff on the beach overlooking the ocean on three sides. The infinity pool is just amazing! Service is great, as well as food, spa and staff friendliness. Definitely the best place to stay in Sri Lanka.
