Burythorpe House

Breakfast was very good as the full English was not greasy, and the portion size was right. My room was airy and spacious with plenty of hot water.

The TV in the room was a little temperamental as it had two controls and took some time to work out. One suggestion would be to have some herbal teas in the rooms as well as the normal, tea, coffee, hot chocolate.

Very warm room Breakfast lacking flavour

Loved the twin room, we had the room next to the restaurant. It had the kitchen stove feature in the room and my sister and I loved that. It had it's own entrance to the outside, which we liked. The breakfast was lovely, very well cooked eggs and filling. The hotel was decorated for Christmas, and the trees were lovely. Beautiful location and off the beaten track so peaceful with lovely scenery. The manager was really nice and the staff polite and attentive.

Smaller than what we thought but still beautiful. Went to the bar in the evening and rang the bell. We waited a while for service and another couple came in just before the staff and got served first! He should have asked who was waiting first. Later we got another drink and the same couple came back in and the staff member stopped serving me to speak to them as they wanted some information! This is not the service I'm used to, especially when there were other staff around. Apart from that, it was lovely.

Service was excellent, friendly and quick. Hotel felt very homely and comfortable.

Friendly, Peaceful, Beautiful building, lovely to get upgraded for no extra cost. great food and staff, Great fire and well decorated still with the Christmas trees.

TV wouldn’t work could only get BBC four. I Didn’t check the bill as I was wrongly charged for our meal.

We have stayed here before, so we knew what to expect. We were upgraded upon arrival, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the communal areas are well furnished and comfortable. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable and had everything you needed. The food was great and very reasonably priced.

Staff, location, and ground floor rooms. Warm cosy lounge with log fire.. Due to an unfortunate problem with the gas heating and cooking facilities we were given a generous unrequested discount. Access to the car which could be parked adjacent to our room, with its own front door and direct access to the dining room. We would stay again.

Slightly dangerous slope into our room, presumably for wheelchairs but not good for mobility impaired. No safety bar in the shower. The bed was not the most comfortable with a prominent wooden frame. The food was excellent but lacked good presentation.

Pleasant quiet countryside location yet only s short distance from very attractive town of Malton.

Very comfortable lounge for pre- dinner drinks but upholstered side tables inappropriate for resting drinks.
