Apartments Dub Cavtat

After two weeks in Croatia, we spent our last night at Apartments Dub since we were leaving at the crack of dawn the next morning. The place isn't fancy but it was very comfortable (spacious and air conditioned) and the location was perfect (walk to Cavtat for dinner and close to the airport). After the hubbub of Dubrovnik, this was great.

Very good self-catering accommodation in small block. . Owners pleasant and helpful; Will provide airport transfers (10 minutes). Cavtat (pronounced Tsavtat) is pleasant resort with many restaurants. Seafront 20 minutes walk (steep hill) has many restaurants and boats to Dubrovnik etc.

We were allocated one of the ground floor appartments, we reckon in the older of the two buildings.Rather dark and spartan but general functionality satisfactory.Wifi was not reliable inside but okay in the communal patio area outside.Steep climb from the bus station although , if we had researched better, the bus passes in effect the appartments on its way down the hill to Cavtat- ask to be dropped at the school and it is just across the road from the stop.Okay for overnight but not long term.

We were really happy with the one-night stay we had in Sept 2012. The owners were very friendly and even offered an airport taxi service. The apartment is 5 minutes walk to the centre of Cavtat, down a hill and some steps (fine for able / semi-able people). The main comment on the apartment was the excellent level of cleanliness, whilst it was also in good repair. Overall a low-risk option for a stay in Cavtat

Suited our budget & needs. Apartment was opposite the bus stop for Dubrovnik & close to the supermarket. It is close to the airport, so the benefit is short transfer (use their transfer, cheaper than airport taxi) but the apartment is under the flight path. There is a steep walk into the town, but nothing an ice cream can't fix to take your mind off the exercise! Great hospitality, thank you

The website publicized a 2 double bed rooms for 4 people. When we arrived we got an apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, very well equipped kitchen and a cute living room. The apartment had a balcony with chairs and another outside table for 4. We felt this apartment was well worth the price. It was very close to the store and less than 10 minutes from the beach and all restaurants. The only downsides were that it was close to the main road and not entirely quiet, and it was uphill from the coast. I would not recommend this place to people who cannot walk uphill in hot weather. The hosts were extremely kind and not intrusive at all and at the end of our stay they gave us a ride to the airport.

The owner met us at the entrance when the cab driver called (he didn't know where it was). It was myself, my husband and 9 month old baby. There was a crib waiting in our room. There was an adjoining room that had 2 twin beds that would be suited for small children. The anteroom had the couch(which is also a twin size pull out)/TV and full kitchen. Nice semi-private terrace , with definite views of the harbor. Thankful for the internet also. The room doesn't seem to get direct sunlight so was on the cooler side. The walk to the Harbor/Cavtat main town is totally doable. The shortcut to town involves a small section of a set of steps and moderate incline- that is a walkway meant for this purpose, young and old are on it, about 10mins. To get to Dubrovnik from Cavtat- you can walk to the harbor to take a water taxi that leaves every 30mins for 50kuna one way/80 kuna round trip. Or we took the local bus which has a stop right across the street from the apartment to town for 20kuna, comes around eery 30mins also. We took our baby and all luggage on the bus to the Main Bus station in town, a ride which took 35mins. Grocery store around the corner too. Would recommend it to you if you don't need fancy shiny decor, and all you want is a comfortable clean place that will let you enjoy Cavtat/Dubrovnik.
