Hotel Oberforsthof

This hotel is incredible. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast, lunch/snack, and dinner included in the room price was exceptional. The location and views are stunning - one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed in. Room was large and comfortable, very clean, great beds/pillows. An absolute treat from start to finish.

I wish there was a kettle and tea/coffee in the room. Considering the luxury level of the hotel, it was disappointing to not have tea and coffee facilities in the room.

We arrived very early at the hotel but this was not a problem, in fact we were given a free upgrade to a larger south facing room with a double balcony. There was a great bathroom with 2 sinks a separate bath and a walk in shower. The hotel has a good sized indoor pool and an outdoor swimming pond. There is a large garden with trees and umbrellas for shade with lots of confortable loungers. There was a small area with alpacas, rabbits and mini pigs for the children to see. There was a large garage provided free of charge for our motorcycle. The food at the hotel was some of the best we have had in Austria. Breakfast included freshly prepared eggs of your choice with smoked salmon, bacon or sausage. In the afternoon there was a hot and cold buffet to keep you going until the 5 course evening meal. All the staff were helpful and attentive and most spoke good English. This was one of the best hotels that we have stayed at and is highly recommended.

We stayed at Hotel Oberforsthof for 5 days in March 2023 with two children aged 9 and 7 and had the most wonderful time. The hotel was within easy reach of Salzburg airport (we flew from the UK) and the slopes/lifts. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, nothing was too much for the hotel management and their team of attentive and friendly staff. The Spa and pool area were the nicest I have experienced, and the food was plentiful, tasty and always served with the greatest of personal attention. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas! Our gorgeous suite was lovely and was one of the nicest rooms I’ve stayed in. All the staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome and special. We were especially well looked after by the lovely Lazslo in the restaurant; he was so kind and caring to us. Christmas was lovely. So festive. I am looking forward to returning one day.

I have spent a week in the hotel Oberforsthof at the end of July and beginning of August and had a great summer vacation. Hotel has a great location, great views over the surrounding mountains, beautiful terrace and a garden. Booked a double bedroom: it was nicely decorated in an alpine style, modern, comfortable, with a nice large balcony. Room was clean like all the facilities in the hotel. Food was really great (breakfast, afternoon snack, dinner), restaurant staff was great, very polite, attentive. Reception staff was really helpful in everything I asked. Large garage free of charge for hotel guests. Downsides: -wi fi was not stable enough for working -too warm and humid in the indoor pool area regardless of the open door towards the garden -small outside pool - both were "invaded" by children who made those their own "playground" which is not so nice when trying to rest or swim. But it is the question of what their parents allow them to do.... There was no room renovation going on in the hotel as I read in one review from June this year. It was quiet and I had a good rest. Nice golf course is about 10 minutes drive from the hotel: great golf coach, small shop with golf equipment. On Mondays hotel has a beginners golf course on offer. Cable car is across the street. Sankt Johann im Pongau is about 5 minutes drive and Liechtenstein gorge as well which I recommend you to visit while in the area (it is like 30 to 45 minutes on foot from the hotel). I strongly recommend the hotel and will definitely return during the winter and summer next year.

This was the first time I had stayed in the Alpendorf in the Summer, it was spectacular. So beautiful. The hotel is lovely, set in picturesque grounds, with a large indoor pool and a great natural outdoor pool. We went there as a family for our Son’s wedding. The staff could not have done more for us. We were a group of 30 and they catered for our every wish. The room we had was very good with a separate double bunk room for our grandson. The bed was very comfortable and had lovely soft pillows. There was a large roof terrace with a superb view of the mountains. The food was delicious and we were not over faced by huge plates of food that got wasted. The evening meal was a 5 course meal. There was a child’s menu and they catered for the children eating earlier than us adults. There was so much to do and see. There are animals for the children a kids club with staff that speak several languages. My only thought was that in the winter I would have preferred a room with a bath, but for the summer a shower is fine. All in all we all felt that the hotel and its staff were amazing. Thank you all so much. I could not recommend it more highly, we will be back.

Not a bad hotel. Food was good for breakfast. The hot water went out in our room and had to repack all out stuff to get moved to a lessor size room. No discount for the inconvenience offered.

Staff and food have always been really good. The location is fantastic. However this time we left early owing to a number of rooms being renovated. And I don’t mean wallpaper and paint. Full on power tools shortly after 8am and in the afternoon. So if you like lie-ins and afternoon naps, then maybe avoid for now which is disappointing. When you’re paying that sort of money for a room, then renovation noise shouldn’t be allowed at all, but the owner doesn’t seem to care and it’s out of the hands of the staff. We got moved to another room, but could still hear the noise like it was next door. As said, we departed early and went to a lovely hotel in Bad Hofhastein.More Cheers, Neill
