"The apartment was horrible"

2.0

We stayed at Les Apartment Du Port which is part of the Le Centre Nautique residence. The three bedroom apartment was supposed to be a Superior apartment with all the amenities- including air conditioning. What we discovered was that there was only one AC in the sitting room - which looked like it was something out of a 1970’s porn set (deep white leather couches with no back support)! The free WiFi is the slowest I have seen. Tested at 0.60mbs. The apartment/building access is through a small dingy passage which gathers cockroaches at night and you have to lug suitcases up three flights of stairs as we could not find anyone at the hotel reception to help us. Even when we called for a porter to help us take down the suitcases - they still did not come. I can go on and on about how bad it was but I will just summarize with - avoid at all costs!!

We had a wonderful experience staying here for 5 nights. The room was spacious, clean, updated. Restaurant was good. Would definitely choose this again next time we come back.

"Couldn’t Have Been Better"

10.0

This hotel is in the best location possible. Right on the port with an amazing view. We stayed in suite number 4 which is top right. The room lid huge and very nice. Iit has windows front and back with skylights as well so great light. The reception staff were very welcoming and before we even knew it our suitcases were whisked up the four flights of stairs (no elevator which was the single drawback). We went to the rooftop restaurant for dinner two nights. The chef and staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. They explained each dish and were very accommodating. The quality of the food was exceptional with attention to all the details. The hotel and restaurant are both well worth the expense.

"Awesome in every detail"

10.0

Stayed here for three nights in October. Cannot say how impressed we were with the room. It was huge, very modern and absolutely spotlessly clean and elegant in every way. Great view, air conditioning, lighting to be believed only by being there. Parking provided, internet, kitchenette. Magnificent bath plus an extra bathroom and 2 separate toilets. Walk out the door to restaurants and 5 min walk to old town. Thought the staff were a little cold on arrival, but very friendly and helpful thereafter.

"Perfect location!"

6.0

Nice rooms over 2 floors with a spiral staircase up to the bedroome and bathroom. There is no aircondition, but every room has a fan, and you can borrow an extra fan in the reseption. Friendly staff. Nice view from the room overlooking the harbour, if you book a room in front! The location is perfect!

"Nice location but average hotel"

6.0

Nice location, free parking, kind staff, avarage hotel and rooms, too expensive for what they are offering but in general Bonifacio is too expencive but beautiful. Thay should include breakfast in this price

"Loved it"

10.0

In an excellent location right on the leisure port, close to the many bars, restaurants and shops on the other side of the harbour, but far enough away to not be much affected by any noise from them. A brilliant spot to sit outside for breakfast and watch the boats and world go by, but only 50m or so from the Tourist Office, Petit Train that goes up to the Haut Ville and the ‘must do’ boat trips. Perhaps a little hard to find at first: as you enter Bonifacio from the north it’s a right turn at an angle just after the petrol station then right again quite soon and the hotel is in front of you with the car park in front of it. To get into the car park head onto the edge of the harbour (left and right); you need a code for the barrier but leave your car and go into the hotel for it. Looking at other hotels, having a free private car park seems a major bonus in this town. The young man on reception, who seemed to be there almost all the time, was very friendly and helpful, with excellent English. The building is over 100 years old but has been updated and modernised very well, and seems clean and fresh. All the rooms are duplexes with a sitting room (plus sofa bed) downstairs and a spiral staircase up to the bedroom and bathroom (the staircase might be a problem with your luggage but we were offered help with the cases). We were very pleased to be upgraded to the family ‘suite’ with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms (one with toilet, one with bidet!). Bedrooms are large, with a good-sized wardrobe, but the bathroom and shower is pretty tight (seems to be a consequence of how they had to convert the building). The rooms are kept very clean and the beds (king size) were comfortable, though the usual square, soft pillows aren’t to our taste. There’s no air conditioning; each room has a fan but we never felt the need for it – I guess the old, thick, walls help to keep the rooms cool. There was no noise at all at the back, but it’s hard to believe there would be much at the front, facing the harbour. Good, free Wi-Fi in the room. Breakfast is cold buffet style in a light, airy, room or, better, on the terrace facing the harbour. There’s not a vast amount of choice, so it seems a bit expensive at €10 each if it’s not included in your booking (though that sort of price seems to be fairly standard in French hotels now). I’m sure you can find cheaper ones, depending what you like in the morning, along the seafront, but the ease and location meant we just had theirs. We were pleased, again, to be charged for 2 of the 3 we had (a discount, not a mistake!). There’s no restaurant (there used to be but it’s now in town) or bar in the hotel; hardly needed with dozens along the seafront within easy walking distance. Whilst not perfect (what is?) we very much enjoyed our stay; we were well looked after and the hotel location gave a great balance between getting to the upper town, wandering the port and driving into the countryside. Highly recommended.
