Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Mason City by IHG

Everything was great.

Five families came together for a funeral in the area. This was a great place and they were able to put us all in the same area. The dining room was a great place for us to eat our meals and play cards.

Breakfast was excellent. A huge variety, everything I had was fresh, and they kept it stocked. Beds were pretty comfortable. Room was very clean.

The room was not set up logically at all. We had a Queen double suite. The wall across from the couch had nothing on it except several outlets and an old phone jack. But there were no desks or counters or dressers from which to use those outlets. Very odd setup. The baseboards in the hallways were gone, and the drywall in the room had been very badly repaired on a couple of corners.

Breakfast selections were varied and of great flavor and quality. The indoor pool and gym were nice perks. Laundry facilities were paid by coin, but were easy to use and the hotel even provided some laundry soap and dryer sheets. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Not much to say here -- we were very pleased with our stay.
