Lal Hotel and Spa

Good location as short walk to the collection of small shops. Grounds are large and quite which is good to get away from the street noise and people trying to sell you things. Rooms vary a lot so expect to pay a lot more for a better one. Restaurant was good value and the chief when out of his way to help my wife with ceoliac disease have gluten free food options. Pool was dirty but was given free use of steam cubicle and sauna instead. Room was old and shower head fell off as soon as it was touched and couldn't be replaced. Even had to ask for a toilet seat as there wasn't one! WiFi would die if more than 3 people were on at a time.

I feel the food was over priced and not that great. Also, the non existent spa was a joke & pool had no water. Nice compound, ok rooms, to expensive for quality. Called to make reservation, when I arrived the price was different then one given on reservation which was annoying. Overall, overly priced for an average experience. It was just kind of, ok.

It was obvious we were outside season. Some parts of the hotel have for sure seen better days but it wasn't important as we only spent a minimum of time in our rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff and wolf for sure consider staying at Lal again

I stayed in one of the marionette bungalows. The toilet was blocked which made for a disgusting two nights. The room facilities were basic and my room wasn’t cleaned on either night. The restaurant had a very restricted menus I assume bs side I stayed outside of peak season.

After our flight got cancelled, our airlines provided a free one night stay with all meals included at LAL hotel. Our room was on the second floor of a hut looking structure. It was spacious, cool, and comfortable. Our water was warm, TV worked well, and wifi was on and off but we were grateful for this accomodation since we stayed in a guest house previously. Washroom was dated but shower and toilet worked. There was basically only one socket to charge electronics. For the price, we would not stay here but for one night it gave our family a chance to relax and unwind. Staff at the dinning room were not friendly but we enjoyed our meals nevertheless. Manager at front desk was helpful and assisted with our inquiries. Thanks. Travelled to 81 countries and didn't expect any hotel in Ethiopia to be near Western standards but I have been pleasantly surprised. This hotel is expensive and not the best value for the $.

I was picked up and tended to the whole trip. It was wonderful.

If my friend go to Lalibela, I will never recommend this hotel.

The hotel and facilities was poor its location was excellent for sightseeing ie Saint Georges Church and other famous churches. Taste Ethiopian coffee and embrace it's culture a land that hold a lot of biblical history definitely worth a trip

The hotel is very nice located. However the staff is very unpolite, rude and does not understand anything about service. Don’t go there for the swimmingpool, most of the time it is empthy because of bad management.
