"great historic building"

10.0

Great hotel, great location, fantastic building, different from the average top hotel in hk in some good ways and some not so good ways. But if you want something different, and you dont need extra's like swimming pool, business centre, ... this is the place to be.

"Wonderful Themed Rooms!"

10.0

We stayed for one night at the Tsing Lung suite. The decor was absolutely astounding, with wallpapers designed like it was a giant Chinese-style painting. The room was very large and vertical, unlike rooms from any other hotels nearby. Overall a very nice stay if only to enjoy the historic value and wonderful service. Tip: if you are looking for a place with other facilities (eg swimming pool, gym) this may not be your cup of tea, but for comfort (especially the incredibly comfortable bed), space, and great views both at night and in the morning, this is definitely a wonderful choice!

"Staying at the Hullett"

8.0

We enjoyed a very pleasant 4 nights at the Hullett The hotel is well located close to the Star Ferry, and some excellent shopping malls. The room we had was huge but lacked tea and coffee making facilities (room service only) but had a free non-alcoholic minibar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dessert at the restaurant at the back which was delicious.

"Under Designed"

8.0

The service, location and views are unmatched. However the design of the room left a lot to be desired. I realize there is an attempt to recreate some sort of heritage environment, but there is a difference between minimalism and sparseness, and between sticking to a vision and comfort. Our room (Pui O Suite) was a massive room, but there was hardly any furniture in it. No comfortable lounge area to relax after a day of walking around. No place to sit and eat our room service breakfast, which was excellent by the way. Lots of little details as well, like the spare roll of toilet paper is just sitting on the floor next to the toilet in plastic wrap? Anyway the hotel as a whole is lovely, and the service was great, but it could definitely do a lot more from a design perspective and providing modern conveniences and comfort along with the heritage environment.

"Great location but lacking for a 5 star hotel"

8.0

I stayed at the Peninsula Hotel many times and decided to try the Hullett House since its location is slightly better and closer to Ocean Terminal and shopping. The hotel entrance is difficult to find on Kowloon Park Drive side. Having a free minibar and free Breakfast was great. Although one time it was delayed 20 minutes. The room layout and design left much wanting. The rooms are very large, and the bedroom only had a bed, side tables, desk & chair, and 2 chairs with a small table. There was a huge space in the middle of the room with no furniture. A sofa and coffee table would be nice. The bathroom only had 1 sink. The toilet faced the shower door and a large wall mirror, which is awkard. Only 2 bath towels, 2 face towels, no hand towels which is odd. The towel quality was not as plush or nice as expected at a 5 star hotel. My room had bedside floor lamps which was hard to switch off from the bed and not useful for reading in bed. TV channels were very limited. No movie channels. Free wifi was good, but no instructions. The plugs are all standard Hong Kong plugs. I had to plug my computer in the bathroom in the razor socket. On the last night I saw guests enter a code to open the security gate from the elevator. As the only guest with a baby in a stroller they should have told me the code instead of me having to buzz and wait for staff to open every day. Good value for size of the room alone, but not sure if I'd stay again unless I got a good discount like this time.
