Beaches Port Douglas

This hotel is located close to beach and a short walk to the main street with all the restaurants,rooms are great size for familey,s and the pool is excelant.

Great place to spend my 60th birthday.

Good size apartment, a little run down though. We had to sweep and mop the floor on arrival as it hadn't appeared to have been done very well. But overall we had a nice stay.

Unfortunately the accoustics in this hotel meant noise carried a lot. We experienced a lot of noise from the rooms below into the courtyard. In addition, the Great Barrier Reef marathon commenced around 4 am in the morning outside the apartments, meaning even less sleep!

Would recommend Beaches to anyone wanting a great central hotel...right opposite the beach and also the surf club. Fantastic large pool....so glad we chose Beaches.

Port Douglas is gorgeous, and this apartment was lovely apart from a few annoying things. (1) The wifi kept dropping out and we found it difficult to skype back to our sons in England. (2) The dishwasher hadnt had dishwasher cleaner put in for ages and was not drying the dishes properly, hence it stunk where it had been closed and was damp inside. (3) We had 3 cockroaches which we managed to capture under a glass and put outside after a few days. (4) A decent measuring jug would have come in useful, not the glass thing that was there. (5) Our apartment 311 (I think) our deck was right by the pool so not very private for us or for pool users. Towards the end of the week there were a couple of VERY noisy children whose parents didnt think it necessary to tell them to be quiet and behave around other people. There was a huge beach 2 mins walk across the road if they wanted to make a lot of noise. p.s. We did appreciate the little garden in front of the apartment but it didnt stop the noise from the pool ....

Simple accommodation, great for the price and the location. Clean and neat facility. Right on the beach.

We enjoyed our stay at Beaches. Our 2-bedroom unit was spacious and clean. The main bathroom was a bit dated compared to the rest of the unit but was OK. The location was excellent, right across the road from the beach and walking distance to everything in town.

This place was fantastic, absolutely loved it. They called me in Hong Kong to confirm and I sent them an e mail to ask since it was my parents first trip and I was meeting them there (I was coming from London) could they make it special? Not only did they, they gave us the top floor appartment (329) with stunning views all over 4 mile beach. The appartment was fantastic, separate bathrooms ,dining area, sunken louneroom, 2 balconies,huge kitchen....and the area is spot on. The beach is literally across the road and the cafe for breakfast and lunch is downstairs which is brilliant. Believe the reviews of the Surf Life Saving club next door, they do the most amazing food and we ate there every night except the last night (we had friends for dinner). So all I can say is the staff were great, really nice and helpful and nothing was a problem. My only negative thing would be, we had to pay for a service of the appartment (that we assumed was included?) for $120 as we were only there for 4 days,so if you ask for one, make sure you check you dont get charged. Also there was a slight problem with the toilet in my parents room, but we told them about it at the end of our stay and they went to get it fixed. But frankly, I wouldnt stay anywhere else after that trip, was one of the best trips I've had in a very long time,and definitely staying there again next time,no question.

Had everything we needed. Loved it and being so close to the beach. We'll be back again and again.
