Restaurant is very good !

Bathtub was very slippery - rm 4 (sorry but it is a bit dangerous)

Very comfortable accomadation, food was excellent… good quality , good value for money… breakfast was amazing…

First of all, I need to explain that the hotel is listed as 4 star. In its present condition, I would say it should be a 2 or maybe a 3. The issue is that it has new owners who are working very hard to bring it back up to speed. It needed and still needs a lot of work. After all, the building goes back between 500 and 800 years! So charming, yes, but tired too. Sheets and towels were clean and good quality,the bathroom had been upgraded, etc., but it is still not 4 star level. I only mention this because we were paying 4 star rates. The room was not worth $200 a night. Now, beyond that, the food is exquisite! Breakfast, made by one of the owners and served by the other, was fantastic. Dinner was heavenly. I am a foodie and have eaten all over the world. This is good food!! And the staff is very friendly and helpful. Judging from the number of people there at night, there is great local support. Well done! I look forward to seeing the finished renovations. Bottom line: the food is worth the trip. I would suggest dropping the room rates until the rooms are really of 4 star quality, as I am sure they will be.

The hotel could not do anything about the road noise, but it faces a busy road. And it was hot outside, so we were faced with opening windows for cool air and being disturbed by the road noise, or closing the windows to avoid the noise and being too hot. I will say though that the property furnished a good Dyson fan in the room, but it was not always enough. (We stayed 3 nights.)
