Bridgeside Guest House

Lovely guest house, great host, and superb breakfast. Good location for town and rail, would highly recommend.

The smoking area, situated on front terrace, meant I had to suffer smoke pollution to get in and out of front door. This aggravated my asthma.

I only stayed one night as was on a business trip passing through Devon and Cornwall... I love Looe anyway and so when I saw an excellent rate for B&B on here, and the superb reviews, I booked to stay. I’m so glad I did. The service is exceptional - know their guests by name and show a genuine interest. It’s the type of hotel where people all go back year after year, and I can see why. Good to have a little bar too as it was a focal point for a few of the guests on holiday. Really lovely atmosphere. Location is excellent. Parking in Looe is always a little hectic - there are a couple of car parks across the road (but during the height of summer almost impossible to get into) and a long stay just over the bridge. Plenty of parking there and not too far away. If you had cases, I’m sure you can pull in and drop them off before parking the car. Steps up to the guesthouse are quite steep so just be mindful of this if anyone has walking difficulties. Overall, it’s a great little place, very friendly and convenient. Clean and comfortable. Not modern, so guess it depends what you are looking for. Fantastic choice at breakfast ... I wish I’d stayed longer to give me chance to sample it all! Everyone staying there raves about it. Thank you for a pleasant stay ... and I’m sure the other guests have continued to have a great holiday!

This is one of those paces that is a real pleasure to stay at where the owner goes out of his way to look after you. Rooms are clean, breakfast seems to be an endless supply of food and drink of excellent quality. The location, opposite the bridge is ideal for walks around Looe and to the beach. Beautiful place to stay & greeted very well by the owner & staff members. Can’t say enough about the place & holds a lot of fond memories for us. We will certainly come back to this place again. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Don't set your expectations very high and you'll have a reasonable night's stay. No parking for guests other than over-crowded public lots (one rather close, the other an 8-10 minute walk over the bridge). The room furnishing were dated but well maintained. Our room (#8) was up several flights and faced into the hill and the back of their property (sad view of strewn old bits and pieces of furniture). Sea gulls nesting right outside the window raised quite a racket. I just don't see how this place could have earned the label 'superb', as claimed on the Hotels.com site. I would suggest it was no more than 'good', being generous.

Warm, personable and welcoming hosts, from arrival to departure. A charming guest house in a perfectly central location and with terrific breakfast included too.
