The Allanton Inn

Stayed in the Allanton inn before, very welcoming, would recommend.

Hunting for a lovely place to stay mid camping holiday, we found this by Expedia recommendation. A gem of a friendly pub, with passionate staff and home furnishings. A selection of lovely real ales, and a menu a Michelin restaurant would be proud of! If you like local produce, and a cheese board to die for this is the place for you!

Great place to stay good food and real ale! Room was comfy and clean Ideal for everyone nice outside area with toys for the kids.

Great Festival knowing good place to return to after concerts

We stayed one night here on our travels and wish we had stayed an extra one!! Lovely pub in super quiet location with an excellent dinner menu and super breakfast, the local honey was memorable!! Our room was lovely with a comfy bed, hot shower and no noise from the pub or outside traffic. Fantastic selection of flavoured gins! Friendly staff and excellent value for money - we would love to stay again if we find ourselves in the area. We missed out on a visit to a nearby castle and stately home (and honey farm) as we ran out of time. Highly recommend anyone stays here. Many thanks

We had a very enjoyable stay here on our recent trip through the UK. Room was very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and seemed to really enjoy running this place. The restaurant was great value for money - quick service and very nice food. Overall, this place was easily the best value for money, and also the most enjoyable place to stay, during our time in Scotland.

We chose The Allanton Inn primarily because of the good restaurant reviews. We had a great evening meal and an equally good breakfast, and the owners and staff were very pleasant. The room itself was quite small and the bathroom cramped, but I guess this was constrained by the age of the building. The room was clean, but the decor was starting to show signs of wear. However, as an overnight stopover it served us very well.

Excellent place to stay for all aspects. The windows had to be kept open all night because it was warm. This meant there was a lot of noise from passing tractor and farm vechiles. Breakfast was outstanding.

Good food and reasonable prices

Well received when checked in. Comfortable bed and good size rooms. Unfortunately I was going out for dinner so did not eat at hotel but I have had a meal here before and it was very good. Excellent cooked breakfast. Will definitely stay again
