"A retreat alternative, not in the center"

8.0

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Great rooms, stunning pool. However its about 10 min tuk tuk ride to the center, and Luang Prabang is such a charming little center that I believe its a must to be located in the center.

"Awful!"

2.0

Bad location, too far from city centre with only 3 shuttles a ay. Staff is very rude and try to rob you all the time(overcharge on the rooms, on the tours, on taxis, etc.). We had a very bad experience and wished we had chosen a hotel closer to town. Run away while you can!

"A disaster!!!"

2.0

The worst hotel we ever stayed in. The staff was very rude and agressive, and they were constantly trying to overcharge us for everything, from tour prices, to taxis, to hotel services, etc. a constant fight. We really had a bad experience and would not recommend it to Anyone, plus, it's far from city centres and there are only a shuttle 4 times a day so they can use there very expensive tuk tuk network! Run away while you still can!!!

"Fantastic hotel, so-so service"

8.0

This is one of the loveliest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The bathroom in particular was wonderful, with a large window next to the bathtub providing natural light, a rarity in even very nice hotels. The balcony view over the swimming pool and surrounding hills was also lovely. The service was not so hot. The staff was friendly and polite, but their English language ability was next to nonexistent, which is difficult to forgive in a hotel this (relatively) expensive. (On the other hand, this seemed to be the case pretty much everywhere in Luang Prabang. Perhaps the town's development just requires a few more years of tourist influx to train up the English skills.) The free shuttle to town was nice (and well air conditioned!) but not frequent enough. Four trips per day will not cut it when you can only take 8 people (in a 59-room hotel!) back and forth at one time. The earliest shuttle, at 9:30am, was too late, and the latest, at 9pm, was too early. Hourly shuttles from 8am-10pm would be much more usable. Overall I still loved the experience though. It was worth it for the beautiful pool, room, and bathroom.

"A Real Dream"

10.0

The Juliana is a new hotel, opened in October 2010 and is a real find! The Management staff is very warm and friendly. They sincerely wish that their guests have a wonderful stay and did everything possible to make that happen. We had great dinner recommendations in the town and felt like we were staying in our own personal palais! The pool is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. This hotel is in it's infancy and I can see that it will become a very popular and well-respected property in the near future! We wish the Juliana all the best!

"Great place to stay"

10.0

The hotel is only 6 months old and is immaculately clean with the most friendliest and helpful staff ever. I cannot recommend this hotel more strongly. The Hotel was fairly quiet so breakfast was made to order which was also great –The Hotel is about 4km from the centre of the old town so the hotel provides a courtesy bus, however local tuc tuc’s can also be easily found - Brilliant place to stay

"My wife and I spent some real"

10.0

My wife and I spent some real nice time at Le Palais Juliana which has a beautiful large pool area where you can swim and relax. Staying for 10 days at the hotel we got an upgrade to one of the hotel villas next to a biotope like huge pond where we had a lot of privacy and nearly total silence. The hotel just opened about two months ago. Therefore the hotel staff still has to get the necessary professional routine but everyone is trying seriously and giving its best to make the hotel guests happy. Most of all everybody gives you a gentle smile whenever you talk to staff members. OK the hotel is not really close to downtown but there is a hotel shuttle to the center of Luang Prabang leaving 4 times per day. You may also take a tuktuk which is easy to get . The last hotel shuttle leaves downton at about 09.00 pm which may be a bit early but if you want to stay out late you can take a tuktuk to return to the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again.
