This was my first time staying in a hostel so I didn't really know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean and well organized. There was no air conditioning, so the room could get quite hot at times, but there were two fans, so it managed to keep the heat down pretty well. It's a very low key run hostel, which threw me off a little. The office has very limited hours, for new arrivals your first name and room number will be printed on a paper near the front door. The key was tucked just out of sight with the basket of dishes you get, just outside the room. Checking out, same deal. I had a very early flight, so I left the key tucked in the mug since the directions weren't clear. Lots of places to lounge about, decent kitchen, comfy beds. Staff were helpful and welcoming (when I saw them).

Noisy backpackers cockroaches and dirty sofas downstairs family accom ok but we thought we were coming to a small motel not very noisy backpackers. Only settled on it because of free parking that turned out to be what you could find on the road outside.

Took one look and walked away.

Charming old building, decent facilities, room clean and comfortable bed. Situated in a very nice part of town , handy for rail/bus links and short walk into town.

We would not try for them again.

Good place for the price you pay. Pros: TV, good kitchen access, clean, close to restaurants. Cons: no AC, a bit far from centre
