Great location room was great if your booking get superior seaview well worth the extra. Bed was huge and the view great cannot fault this accomodation great stay here.

Perfect viewing, quiet, really high quality neighbourhood in the area, great place to stay for exploring Akaroa.

The cost for the seaview is to carry your suitcase and climb up 3 levels of stairs. Tiny kitchenette area but still very usable with necessary cutlery.

What a great place to stay! Clean, spacious, modern. Felicity was so welcoming and helpful. Lovely view of the lake and right in the heart of Akaroa.

We flew in from Adelaide, hired a car and drove to Akaroa - amazing scenery. On arrival found the Criterion and as it was a Saturday and after 5 there was no one in attendance but a note to me stuck on the office door. All good so far. We read the motel guide and decided to head to the local pub as suggested up the road as we didn’t to drive and we were tired. Great meal. Back to the motel for an early night. Next morning had brekkie in the room and took guide’s advice and grabbed a coffee from next door - very nice. Spoke to the lady who was looking after the place - very helpful and informative. Took her suggestion and strolled along the shore to the lighthouse and back - stopping for a great Vietnamese lunch. Again walked around the streets ( not many of them but we were right in the heart. ) Ate takeaway that night in rooms as we were still tired. Next morning we had to leave but spent some time talking to the owner - again very nice, friendly and helpful. The room was number 1 on ground floor with outdoor area and kitchenette. Bed was king and very comfy. We would love to come back to stay for at least a week but alas the motel is being sold to a local luxury apartment developer - hopefully it will be renovated and remain available for short term hire. Couldn’t think of anything in a better location.

Lovely spacious comfortable room with amazing view. Staff kindly let us have a late check-out to accommodate an activity on the day we left.

The room was as advertised, the staff were very friendly and it was a lovely place to stay. The location was excellent with views of the bay. Easy walking distance to the main shops and tourist places. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
