Augusta de Mist Country House

Attention to detail was superb. The food was just unbelievable - 7 courses for dinner & a breakfast to die for. The garden was a joy to explore. The main house & all the other buildings were beautifully decorated with a quirkiness that I love.

Had a wonderful time in this beautiful small hotel set in lovely gardens. In a great location within walking distance of the Drostdy. Great attention to every detail by the attentive owners, who have a wealth of knowledge about the town and local area, make this a brilliant place to stay. And the carrot cake is very good!

We had a very enjoyable two days and felt well looked after. Our cottage was nicely furnished, spacious and comfortable. The owners and staff made sure we had everything we wanted and helped us with things to see and do in the area. We also very much enjoyed the evening meal. There were some nice touches like supplies for our journey and having our car washed before we left.

a fantastic welcome from Michel with a tour of the garden and a lot of humour. the food was amazing, especially the African Kitchen 7 course meal - thanks Henk ! our suite was gorgeous with a comp mini bar. Such a lovely establishment with lashings of good humour and style. The staff were attentive and so friendly.

Such a charming, unique piece of paradise tucked away. The gardens were exquisite. There was so much attention to detail in the furnishing of our suite that it made our stay a very memorable experience. The food was exceptional as was the service from all concerned. Would definitely recommend and hope to return ourselves as soon as possible.

Augusta de Mist was a lovely old property which the owner was very keen to show off, and quite rightly. They had it beautifully furnished. Our every need had been considered and catered for in our accommodation and we were given a very detailed induction on arrival. Breakfast was indeed a feast with everything we could possibly want on offer. Unfortunately the kitchen was not open on the night of our stay but our host was kind enough, without asking, to book us into an excellent local resturant for dinner. Our only disappointment was that our schedule only allowed one nights stay.

Das Augusta de M. ist für uns wohl das beste B&B, in dem wir je übernachtet haben. Wenn es 6 Sterne gäbe, von uns würde es sie bekommen. Die gesamte Anlage ist einfach herrlich, die Hosts unglaublich nett, jedes noch so kleine Detail in den Cottages ist bedacht, der Pool ebenfalls sehr schön. Vom Willkommen mit einem Eistee und Führung durch die Anlage bis hin zum am Abreisemorgen als Service frisch gewaschenen Fahrzeug, alles ist perfekt. Zu empfehlen ist auch das abendliche gemeinsame Essen. Hank, einer der beiden Hosts kocht ein sehr leckeres Menü. Wir kommen sicher wieder, aber dann länger als nur eine Nacht!

Michel ist sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Gastgeber, der seinen Gästen mit viel Interesse, Intelligenz und Offenheit begegnet. Henk ist ein sehr guter Koch - unbedingt das Essen buchen! sehr gutes Menu, unbedingt probieren. Liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer und Anlage. Kamin am Zimmer war toll!! Ein Gästehaus bei dem einfach alles stimmte. Ausstattung, Komfort, Personal,Service.Der Inhaber Michel, ist wie auch schon bei anderen Bewertungen besonders hervorzuheben. Seine Ruhe, seine Zugewandtheit, seine Freude mit Gästen zu tun zu haben, machen einen Aufenthalt bei ihm zu einem sehr netten Erlebnis. Es macht einfach Spaß durch Rast einzulegen.

Our stay was simply lovely. The manager was super nice and helpful, and the room had a cool outdoor shower with hot water. The grounds are really interesting, with lots of different garden and sitting spaces, which was great for just relaxing after long Garden Route drives. The beds also had electric blankets to make it nice and toasty. The breakfast on the patio was superb with different baked breads and jams and a lots of hot options too rather than the typical eggs, bacon, tomato, which we'd grown tired of. If you're a runner, out of the gate, head right, up the street for good views. Highly recommend AdM to simply re-charge your batteries!
