Admiral Guest House

The room was so nice, clean, plenty of room. We had a double & a single bed. Little breakfast bar. En suite. Small fridge. Owner was so nice & helpful. Left luggage available free of charge. Location straight off the train. Perfect in every way. Will use again

Excellent location we were travelling by train and the Hotel is over the road,we had the family room the double bed was very comfortable & lots of light in the room.The owner is very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again 😊 also close to weatherspoons 🍺 🍽 Thankyou

Nothing to complain about

We stayed this weekend in room 4 of the Admiral. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The room was tiny and very tired. I would say a £60-£80 a night room, maximum. We paid £126 a night. To make things 100 times worse, as we were leaving we bumped into the couple leaving room 1 and they gave us a look into their room. The difference was vast, it was large, airy, bright, and newly decorated which I would understand had it been double the price. However, to my astonishment they told us that they had paid the same amount per night for this far superior room. I would expect some refund of our costs for this as it is simply not acceptable.

It was clean and fairly comfortable inside the property, room. This is not a hotel !!!!

The area is run down and the residents look like homeless people that have been put up in bed and breakfasts. The whole square smells of cannabis. Not an area I wanted to spend a relaxing break in . The room , ground floor, has no window, it's in the bathroom. No area to sit, definitely just a place to sleep, if you can from the noise of nieghbours. No reception, no other facilities, like I said just a room. Far too overpriced!! We left early morning, although we booked 2 nights. Found somewhere much better to enjoy the rest of our stay and it was much cheaper. Parking very limited, not what you expect, wouldn't leave my car there anyway to dodgy.

Location was excellent for me as I was arriving by train and needed to be in the centre of town.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

It was fit for purpose. The owner was very friendly and the bed and bathroom was clean and functional.

The coffee stains on the walls and furniture wasn’t great. The weather was very warm too and it would have been great to have a fan in the room. The pillows were not great as they were clearly old and lumpy.
