The location

The place is beautiful but so old and outdated, dusty and unclean, bathroom full of mould and un clean,our room would rate it a 3 star, I spoke to the staff and we were put in a better room but the carpeted floor so dirty and old

The food was good with choices of quality locally sourced ingredients

We booked a suite and was the most expensive room of our 10 stop tour of Scotland. Sadly it was the worst. The online pictures must be 5-10 years old as the public lounge was much shabbier. Our room was large but very dated. We had a lounge accessed through double doors but it was totally featureless. The wood around the window was totally rotted, so much so that you could see right through the wood. The bathroom looked good and modern but there was no water pressure and a shower took ages, it got worse when the water cut out altogether mid-shower. The staff worked very hard but there were not enough of them. They had to work both reception and bar or vacuuming and serving dinner. On check in, we had to hunt for a staff member and finding someone to get us a drink was similar

The building and grounds are very beautiful. The gentlemen in the reception was very friendly.

We had a very bad experience in the breakfast of the first day. Very unpleasant person, completely in contrast with the experience in the second day. The inside is completely run down and needs urgent renovation.
