Convento da Provença

A quiet converted convent a mile or so from Portalegre, set in extensive verdant grounds with chickens, donkeys and bird life. Historical relics are displayed within the property, including a Roman ice pit, full suits of armour, weapons and other vintage items. There are sunlit terraces, a pool, a huge lounge and loads of room. The hosts are fantastic, and the food and breakfast fabulous. Pizzas and salad two nights on the trot. It’s quiet and peaceful. Masses of free parking. A gem.

Visto estarmos na Baja Portalegre não era possível tomar o pequeno almoço antes das 8, e não havia hipótese de ter qualquer comida disponível nem com pedido. De resto tudo óptimo

Beautiful, quite location. Host made us feel at home, very friendly and helpful! Really nice place just to relax and enjoy swimming pool. Everything was nice and clean. Really enjoyed our stay.

Da localização, das instalações e do acolhimento.

Das ganze war wie eine Reise ins Mittelalter mit Familienanschluss, denn die Eigentümer Leben auch dort. Das Gebäude und die Ruine drumherum sind schon echt abgefahren einfach sehr außergewöhnlich, richtig toll!! Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und am Abend wurde mir auch eine gute Pizza zubereitet. Der Pool war cool. Und die Esel waren supersüß kamen sofort her, um gestreichelt zu werden. Ich fand es richtig schade, dass ich nur eine Nacht gebucht hatte

Die Lampen Nachttischlampen am Bett sind ein Witz, denn lesen ist damit überhaupt nicht möglich. Wurde aber bereits versichert, dass die in Bälde ausgetauscht werden. Und Fliegengitter vor dem Fenster wären natürlich auch richtig gut, da das ganze mitten auf dem Land ist... es gab aber jetzt auch nicht allzu viele Fliegen, ich hatte das Fenster aber auch nicht allzu lange auf. Im Bett hatte einzig das Tuch unter der Decke einen sehr unangenehmen Geruch, ich habe es entfernt und hatte dann halt eine bisschen kratzige Decke.
