Quiet and peaceful with all the extras. The pool area in summer is wonderful. You need a car as its not situated in the town. Would stay again.

Our stay at Huntingdon was far too short :-( We absolutely loved it. A great getaway for a weekend for couples. There a great collection of books and magazines to read. You can either sit out on the balcony and drink a glass of wine or curl up on the couch and read a book or watch the telly. It's very private and very peaceful. Great views looking out over the valley. If you're visiting make sure you take the 5 minute drive up to the Maungakawa Reserve. A lovely area for a walk.

Amazing stay!! The hostess was very accommodating and upgraded us at no charge from The Stall to The Loft. She was there awaiting us as soon as we arrived to show us where to park and how to use everything in the apartment space. Breakfast was available for us to make in the room. She ensured the room was tidied while we were out sightseeing for the day. She also made sure the room was heated and lights were turned on for our return. She provided recommendations on things to do while in town and en route to our next location.

EXCEPTIONAL This property is set atop of a hill, a mediterranean style home and an array of incredible views, gardens, and stunning buildings. Robyn greets us with a gorgeous warm smile and takes us to the Stalls explaining that this is the smallest of their rooms available, we walk in and say how lovely it is. As we chat we discover there is a Loft available and the North and South Stables available also. I look a little confused and explain this is the only room available on Expedia. It told us it was the last room, which was not the case. Before dark we take a walk around the property and see all the different areas of the retreat. The bird sanctuary, pool, spa, sauna, veggie and herb garden for use by guests, various seating areas for appreciating the view and so much more and the very capable Andy who, after pruning all day was catching the chickens to put them to bed for the night. A great sleep. Breakfast is included, a fridge full of distilled water, milk, orange juice, homemade preserves, butter, Yoghurt and everything we needed for our full continental breakfast, including a Nespresso Machine. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. The location, the style and sophistication that is so unassuming it makes you feel like your coming home. Robyn and Andy have nailed the brief offering perfection and hospitality we have never experienced before. Amazing!!!!! The property and the accommodations were absolutely wonderful. Totally exceeded expectations. The service was beyond compare- the hosts seem to have anticipated our every need and stocked the loft with everything. There was literally nothing negative that I could say about this place. Would love to stay again if I ever come back to New Zealand.

This property is absolutely gorgeous - as much as the natural surroundings it is in. It felt idyllic yet is only 5 or so minutes from town. Fully equipped for a weekend of self care it includes a spa, sauna and pool. The room was beautifully organised and while The Stall lacks a kitchen, it has microwave and eating facilities complete with outdoor dining. A full ensuite completes the room and there is nothing you could want for - everything has been thought of. The hosts were lovely - helpful, gracious and available but also hardly seen. Thanks for an amazing weekend of unwinding.
