Pancakes each morning were great and stimulated friendly interactions between guests and staff. Taco the pussycat was a hit with our 11 year old. Amenities were great, generally clean plenty of room & equipment to cook your own meals. The men’s bathroom stinks, Urinal poorly cleaned/maintained.
If you want to be in the centre of town the location is quite good with public transport just across the road. I had a private room bed was very uncomfortable mattress has definitely had its day, shared bathroom facilities are definitely not great needs renovation. But depending on your budget it nay just be your thing. Lots of interesting guests to meet and strike up a conversation .Staff were friendly.
I stayed here a long time ago and love to come back, it is quirky, old, nostalgic, littered with character and hidden history. Plus it is super affordable and really conveniently located.
Don’t come. Staying in your car overnight is even a better decision!! The worst hostel I’ve ever been. Drugs and addicts wandering. Dirty floor and dirty bed, dried blood and plenty of dust on the bed. Not expecting a perfectly clean room as it’s a hostel, but it’s still way too terrible. Not mentioning its price is not cheap. Also it was super noisy. People were singing and shouting at night so loudly that nobody could sleep. We literally walked out and stayed in our car at the end.
