Beautiful old pub in a lovely setting

An absolute gem of a pub in the quaint village of Duns Tew. 17th Century and brimming with character and cosiness. From our arrival Ellen made us feel very welcome, she was so friendly, chatty and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was part of a block of 4 rooms to the exterior of the inn. I would describe it as comfy, cosy with all the mod cons. We had reserved a table for our evening meal which was in front of the amazing original fireplace, the ambience was so inviting and the blazing fire was very comforting. The staff were so polite and friendly and the service was great. The food was delicious and of exceptional quality. I didn't realise breakfast was included which was a nice surprise and again, it was beautifully cooked. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be booking in and we honestly cannot recommend this charming inn enough. Thank you Ellen for making it stay a 5 star experience.

comfy bed, beautiful garden and area. Coffee station well stocked. Good parking.

Daylight was through clear glass front door, therefore loss of privacy, whcih required a thick curtain to cover door. No other window. Indoor lighting was too subdued, considering that daylight is impractical, so could do with one bright light.

Attractive, very clean and welcoming rooms - coming home on our second day to find the room had been made up again was an absolute delight! Staff were helpful and friendly when we had an issue meaning we had to check in very late. Small but spacious and a great location for Soho Farmhouse.

Mattress was comfortable but firm, meant every movement/turn was felt so difficult for one of us being a lighter sleeper. Wish the pub was open for breakfast during the week - very minor, was simply because it was lovely.

The pub and inn were both very cute, perfectly located for farmhouse and dalesford. The staff were so kind and friendly, the pub had a lovely fireplace and there was a beautiful dog walk path the dogs loved.

The property was newly refurbished which was lovely, but the door was super sticky. We couldn’t get it shut so locking it was very tricky. One night we went to bed without locking it because we struggled so bad to close it. We told staff who very kindly helped us to lock it when we went out, but that would definitely need to be fixed. :)
