"The best B&B experience we've had!"

10.0

My wife and I were looking for a base near the Pembrokeshire coast, somewhere quiet which would allow us to relax but also be able to get out and experience the local coast. We found the perfect base at East Hook - quiet, peaceful, so well maintained and beautifully run. Jen is an amazing host who was helpful and considerate, but not overly pushy and therefore the perfect person to run her business. The room was spotless and appropriately furnished, the bed was comfortable (if a little soft for our taste), but the bathroom was well equipped. We were even able to sit out in the beautiful gardens one evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful surroundings - relaxing here really isn't a problem. Breakfast is the biggest highlight though - everything you want and more, and the food was the highest quality - local sausages and bacon, bread baked fresh every day. I've been to a lot of hotels and B&Bs and honestly would rate this as one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. In addition, Jen had organised the tables so that we came to breakfast 15 minutes apart to promote social distancing. There was plenty of hand sanitiser around and lots of reminders about COVID security which made us feel at ease. In short - we loved East Hook, we wouldn't change anything about our stay and would definitely come and visit again. A Pembrokeshire Coast gem!

We stayed at East Hook for two nights. It was excellent in every way. The room had everything you need and more and the place itself was in a lovely quiet spot but near enough to all the local amenities . I must also mention the lovely home cooked breakfast and the very welcoming host .

Facilities and service was outstanding, however, finding the lodging was next to impossible. Like all locations in the UK, the lack of a physical address (i.e., street number) reflecting where the lodging is located causes the customer to " literally" have to "stop and ask strangers" where the lodging is physically located. At the East Hook B&B, this task took about an extra 40 minutes and was completely dependent on finding someone nearby who knew where the lodging was physically located. After the 30 mins, I almost gave up on finding it. However, I lucked out and asked a man watering his grass, who remembered where East Hook Farm was and gave me directions to get there. Based on not having a "real physical address" to publish on their website or in their Expedia lodging description, it is probable that past and future customers will legitimately fail to find their location, thus, request an appropriate refund for their payment to the lodging. I highly recommend that UK advertisers on Expedia be required to add detailed instructions on how to get to their lodging or publish their lat long or UTM coordinates which can be entered into a GPS.
