Bowfield Hotel and Spa

Nice staff, nice hotel, good food, no milk in room to start with, No hot water on the second night, beds only made as far as throwing wrinkled sheets back on not what i would expect from a 4/5 star hotel, carpets had a few stains on them,

My wife and I had not idea what to expect when we booked Bowfield House, but from the very moment we walked through the front door, until the moment we checked out a couple of days later, we realised we had found the holy grail of stays. Genuinely friendly staff who were happy to interact with both guests and other staff members, great facilities, such as pool, spa, restaurant, etc. our room was cosy and spot on and the food was fantastic. Next time we head towards Glasgow, this will be where we stay for years to come I hope.

Lovely hotel. But ask for room upstairs as the sound proofing is not great on the ground floor. That said the food is good and breakfast is v good.

Very nice, super friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant was really good too. But the beds were not comfy- flat, firm mattresses and flat pillows. Also, the rain shower gets the whole bathroom floor wet since there is no barrier (only a narrow piece of glass to block the toilet only). It’s kinda gross and you need to wear slippers or shoes. Our heated towel rack didn’t work but that wasn’t a huge deal for us.

Overall a nice play to stay. The gym and the pool are very nice, rooms are fine and the staff very friendly and helpful. A nice touch for parents is a softplay with a cafe. The promise of the bar's and restaurant's decor however meets the reality of very poor food and drinks menu. The food menu is unimaginative and my dinner was less than average with a lazy presentation. Five basic red wines and very limited whisky in the bar with poor food makes it feel cheap. Fix the bar and the restaurant and the place will be great!
