The friendly staff, the comfy bed, excellent location

Shower was just a bit of a dribble. Some of the breakfast items on the buffet table hadn't been restocked.

Excellent location and beautifully maintained gardens. Decor throughout very tasteful and staff all very pleasant.

Room 41 - on entry a strong odour of damp. Cold room , radiators did not work. Noise transferred both vertically and horizontally from room to room. Bed exceptionally uncomfortable.

Excellent choices for breakfast and served by outstanding staff as were our evening meals - in both the bar area and restaurant. The bedroom was well equipped, light and airy. Nice gardens.

Breakfast was fine. Evening meal was good but not outstanding. We first went around 10 years ago and the food then was exceptional.

The price of drinks considering the very average quality of the wine. I bought a large glass of white wine and a half of lager at the bar and I was charged over £20. I find that unacceptable. Our room was poor, no view and an ironing board jammed diagonally in our wardrobe hanging space prevented us from hanging clothes up. No walk in shower, just a shower over a bath. On the morning of our departure it was raining heavily and water started dripping onto the carpet in our room. Maybe we got a poor room because we booked through Booking.com rather than booking direct with the hotel but I found it was cheaper to do so when I was booking. Parking wasn't brilliant.
