La Casona de Yaiza

Traditional characterful building and Yaiza is a charming little town .

The room allocated to us , was on the ground floor and meant that everyone going up the stairs and walking above us , sounded like a herd of elephants ! We got very little sleep. Regretfully , our room was not made up with good housekeeping - no refreshments and the floor was dirty. It was very expensive for an overnight stay but the breakfast was good . Although served outside . Wear yiur coat !

Wij verbleven 8 dagen in het hotel. In superior kamer 19 in het nieuwe gedeelte. Deze kamer was erg ok, met mooi terras. Het ontbijt was ook heel erg in orde. Het restaurant lijkt me bovendien het beste van de streek! Van zwembad en Spa konden we niet genieten omdat het weer te wisselvallig was, maar dat belette ons niet alle geplande bezoeken netjes af te werken.

Niets. Tip: Wil je een kamer in het oude, zeer charmante gedeelte moet je een “emblematico” kamer nemen.

Sehr schönes, nicht zu großes Hotel in ruhiger Lage. Tolle Architektur, schöne Zimmer. Tolle Außenanlage. Pool und Whirlpool. Alles sehr gepflegt und stets sauber.

Mängel beim Frühstücksservice und im Restaurant. Kaffeevollautomat an 5 von 7 Tagen überwiegend defekt. Keine Eierspeisen außer hartgekochte, kalte Eier. Im Bereich Frühstücksbuffet Hygienemängel. Schwacher Service im Restaurant. Ansprechbares Management nicht zugegen. Rezeption nur zeitweise besetzt. 4* wackeln hier doch ziemlich. Das Hotel selbst ist aber wirklich sehr schön.

The position with great view, varied breakfast, ability to walk directly from the hotel to interesting places.

The bathroom door didn’t shut completely….not really a problem, but perhaps should be rectified.

It was a fantastic place to base oneself as someone interested in walking and birdwatching. Also art. I loved the artwork everywhere but frustratingly couldn't find out the name of the artist (I'm sorry that when someone told me, I immediately forgot). I would love to have known more about the history of the place. I really hope I can get a chance to come back.

I didn't understand the breakfast arrangement! This was probably because I was travelling alone the first night and didn't want to ask, and felt rather stupid. I thought there was a cooked breakfast option - but I was wrong! - but the breakfast was fantastic. No complaints! Just a cultural misunderstanding!
