"I can recommend this"

9.0

Very nice little boutique hotel and very quiet. Nice view of the sea. Very friendly and accommodating. My room facing the garden with direct access to the pool.

It's a shame that the fridge is next to the bed. Sometimes annoying.

We loved everything. Having traveled over the world, this has been one of the best, homely feeling have had. The manager was amazing, responsive and caring to our needs. And the staff friendly and you can see they love what they do. We asked for almond milk, and the next day they had it for us. This is just one example. If I had an option, I would rate it 12. Definitely our new spot when in CT.

We loved everything!

"Absolute Gem!"

10.0

It is perfectly situated close to the beach, cafes, restaurants and a strip mall. Watching the sunsets from the first floor lounge are magical! Mable the cook and caretaker of the property is a gem! Mable is kind, considerate and friendly, she goes out of her way to make your stay special. The bathrooms in the room are big and the water pressure in the shower is great! The honesty bar is well stocked.

The carpet in the bedroom.

"Lovely Location"

6.0

The Sir David is in a lovely location very close to the beach in Bloubergstrand. My sea facing room had a lovely balcony with chairs to sit on which was very pleasant in the evening and early morning. My room was very clean and well appointed as was the whole guesthouse. Breakfast was plentiful but the bread rolls on my first morning were old and doughy and the croissant on the second morning presented in a cellophane packet was cold and inedible it really should have been warmed up and crisped in the oven. I did not have the cooked breakfast option so cannot comment. All in all my two nights at the Sir David were pleasant.

On arrival I waited outside for about ten minutes ringing the front door bell with no response but thankfully as I was about to leave a guest arrived who let me in and only then did a staff member come through from the back saying she had not heard the bell but had seen me on the camera???? On my first morning at breakfast a lady came up to me and asked in a very abrupt and unfriendly manner "how did you sleep" I was a bit taken aback as there was no introduction but found out later that she was the manager or owner. I found the guest house to be very unfriendly with little interaction from the manager/owner and got the distinct impression "don't bother me". Unfortunately the occupants of the two rooms on either side of me were smokers so the smoke emanating from their balconies, where they may or may not have been permitted to smoke, was a problem in the evenings and mornings not only on my balcony but also inside my room if the window or door was open. No emergency contact information was provided in my room nor upon check and there was no one to be found in then guest house after 6pm other than other guests which as a sole traveller was of concern.
