Arethousa Hotel

This is a lovely hotel with a family-run feel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our family enjoyed the breakfasts, particularly the pastries - there was something for all of us. Katakolon is a small and attractive place with nice restaurants and interesting shops. The room was small, but attractive and comfortable. It was a good base from which to visit Olympia, which was our main reason for staying. Just be aware of the impact of cruise ships docking.

Three cruise ships docked on the first night of our stay and the road was extremely busy most of the night (it seemed). The next night, one small ship arrived and it wasn't so bad. I would check in advance and ask for a room at the back if the cruise ships are in town.

It is a cute hotel near the water and the area was very quaint. We loved it. The service was wonderful. Although, I didn't wake up for breakfast, y family did and they loved it. They said that the service was great.

I am 54 and my mom who was with me, is 78. The hotel has marble steps and they were difficult for the both of us. Obviously, this isn't the hotel's fault but I wanted to point that out if you are older and have difficulty with steps.

Location and property appearance

Booked kitchenette room at extra cost only to be told cooker was switched off and we couldn’t use. A little misleading that fact and we would actually have booked elsewhere if we had known. Communication was slow. Breakfast was nice and younger staff very good.

Beautiful room loved the robe n slippers. Good location in town. Very clean. Tastefully done.

Excellent location. Cosy well Designed comfortable Rooms and a very friendly and pleasant hosts...! Well Recommended.
