Kingston Hotel

In Vancouver for a conference, I didn't want to pay or stay at a big corporate hotel. I booked a room with bath, and even so it was reasonably priced. Scrupulously clean, traditional decor, supportive bed, warm radiators but also an AC/heat unit. Robe and slippers, toiletries, strong Wifi, lighting options for work or sleep. Didn't have to buy expensive breakfast, since there was coffee in the lobby in the mornings, and both an IGA and H-Mart with Monet bakery steps away. The neighborhood has fancy places such as Glowbal (too rich for me), but within the same block you also find Japa-Dog and Jinya Ramen Bar, so no trouble dining on a budget. The hotel restaurant had a 15% discount for guests, and seemed reasonably popular. Across the street Medina drew a long line for Sunday brunch. Location was brilliant--less than five minutes to the Vancouver City Centre SkyTrain stop, which is 25 minutes from the airport. My conference was at the Convention Centre, a 20 minute walk up a slight hill, perfect for clearing the cobwebs in the morning. I walked back at nearly midnight safely (it is a city, so avoid empty streets late at night). But there's plenty of posh streets to come by. The hotel staff kept close watch on the door after hours when it's locked for safety. They kept my luggage until evening for me on the last day. I didn't try the sauna or the laundry room, but this hotel checks all the boxes for comfort, convenience, and charm, while keeping your other expenses down.

It is clean, comfortable and great value for money! The location cannot be more central, we love it!
