Hotel Indigo Liverpool by IHG

I recently stayed at Hotel Indigo Liverpool and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. On arrival, I was allocated Room 227, which was a disabled-access room that I neither requested nor required. Initially, staff appeared to blame the booking agent before later explaining that the hotel was exceptionally busy. While I appreciate that occupancy levels can create challenges, this was not an acceptable solution. The room itself had one of the hardest beds I have ever slept on – honestly, I think the wooden floor would have been more comfortable. The disabled bathroom also had no hot water, meaning I was forced to have a cold shower. To be fair, the lady on reception was apologetic and advised that another room would be available when I returned later that day. I was then moved to Room 617, which at first seemed a significant improvement. The bed was much more comfortable and, importantly, there was hot water. However, what nobody mentioned was that the room was located on the top floor adjacent to, or directly beneath, what appeared to be a boiler or plant room. The noise throughout the night was horrendous and made it impossible to get any meaningful sleep. It was so bad that I eventually checked out at 5:30am because I simply could not take any more. When I explained the situation to the gentleman on reception, his response was little more than “I apologise for that,” with no real concern or attempt to address the issue. I stay in Liverpool at least five times a month and regularly use hotels in the city. Sadly, this experience means I will not be returning to Hotel Indigo Liverpool. There are plenty of better hotels available that offer a much more comfortable stay and a higher standard of customer service.

Lovely hotel, went beyond my expectations. Bathrooms lovely, great showers, lovely towels and shower/ products. Lighting lovely in bedroom, spacious and comfortable. I will be back

The location was perfect and quiet. Centrally placed. The bar and restraurant food and service was excellent

No anti slip mat in the shower

Great location, friendly staff, great service. V happy and no complaints. Small problem with sink not draining was fixed very quickly.

Very good room with excellent facilities for a one night stay. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely breakfast with cooked choices served to your table. Good location for access to Waterfront attractions.

Lovely clean, modern hotel well located to local restaurants and supermarkets. Breakfast was good, the full English breakfast was a good portion and good quality products. There was a bit of a queue until a table was available, but one of the staff a gentlemen was very efficient. He could carry multiple items to clear the tables fast and he was also working on reception. He was very efficient and seemed to be in charge. The bedroom was a good size and I liked the free beer and red wine crisps and Biscuits included with the room.
