A stay at the Dar Chams Tanja is a portal to the past. It opens first hand the rich cultural history of one of Western Civilzations defining cities. There are other hotels in and around the Madina and the Kasba; however Noura, the Dar Chams Tanga's manager, catalyses all the components of five star travel into a rich and unforgettable experience that is unrivaled.

Nora, the team and the facility were all terrific. The rooftop views were only beaten by the quality of the food and service. Nora was a gracious host and was there to help answer all of our questions. Highly recommend!!

The property was not as described. No one was at the desk for most of the time we were there. The shower and bathroom were dirty. There was no air conditioning.

This little boutique riad in the old city was beautiful and comfortable. Just a few steps away from the Kasbah and the vibrant life of old Tangier. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the hospitality of Nora and the staff at the riad. We always always felt welcome and taken care of. We visited during Ramadan, so many of the restaurants and shops were closed in the early part of the day, but at no point felt we were not visiting the real Morocco. Would definitely recommend this riad for a couples (or guys or girls) stay when visiting.

They pressured us into taking the Medina tour. It was awful. The paid guide brought us to overpriced shops and told us it was a good deal. We later saw the same items at other shops for a fraction of the price. This hotel does not have any elevators so you have to struggle with your bags on the narrow stairs.

This is a very authentic Moroccan riad in a wonderful neighborhood of Tangier. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed with beautifully Moroccan furnishings. There is a terrace on the top of the hotel that affords an amazing view in every direction. You can arrange for tea or even a meal up there. The breakfast is spectacular and somewhat different each day. The hotel arranged a tour guide for us to take on a tour of Tangier and a day trip to Chefchaouen; the driver was excellent, and the van was spacious. On the downside, IF you are older or have bad knees, there are a LOT of stairs in this place. There are outside stairs from the drop-off parking area and many more stairs inside. Rooms listed as on the 1st floor require about two flights of stairs as there is an intervening mezzanine between the ground floor and what they call the first floor. Upon arrival, the person who greeted us proposed various additional services (like Hammam spa, tea, dinner, etc.) The pitch was a bit higher pressure than we are used to. Otherwise, the employees are so very friendly and helpful, even providing an extra bed in one of our rooms. I would stay here again based on the location, the view, the breakfast, the cleanliness, and the service.

This place was lovely and Nora took great care of us. Classic Moroccan style with comfortable beds, great showers and delicious breakfasts. I would definitely come back! Very close to the Kasbah and the harbor.

Such exceptional service and treated us like family! We enjoyed sweeping views of town and the ocean from our rooftop breakfast. We even had a guest musician serenade us during breakfast using a Middle Eastern oud, or fretless lute-like instrument. They also assisted us in getting a taxi to Cap Spartel lighthouse. We highly recommend staying here if you visit Tangier! Oh, bring earplugs for the early morning (06:00) Islamic chanting going on at neighborhood mosques.
