Kalanan Riverside Resort

Perfect location if you look for a short getaway trip near Bangkok. It's very peaceful, and makes you feel like you're living in a place back in time. The room is spacious, the breakfast was good enough, and most staffs we met were helpful. We would recommend this place to others, and will come back.

The bed was too hard and we can't sleep well. Some staffs we met could have been more services-minded - that's the expectation of a hotel at this standard.

Superb location and surroundings (the riverfront, greenery, and spacious area for strolling. A convenient store (CJ) and local fresh/food market are just in a walking distance. The hotel architect reserves the classic vibes with decoration of paintings and old photos giving a calm ambiance to the place. Cleanliness is outstanding throughout the hotel area and the room. Cleaners are helpful and very polite with beautiful mannerisms to guests.

Front desk staff are not warm and informative. For example, the hotel was arranging for the New Year event using the swimming pool area on the 2 floor but no pre-warning to guests about the workmen clearing out the area. Guests were leaving items at the pool on the way to breakfast. When returned to the pool, guests found that all the sunbeds and chairs were removed and their items were left on the floor. There should be a notice to guests in advance by either verbal or a sign.

Breakfast should be much better at this grade of hotel. We were pretty surprised especially as in Thailand breakfasts are on average amazing. Also there should be at least some vegetarian options, our friends struggled.

I’m rating this stay subjectively, and from that perspective I have no complaints. I booked it as a one-night stop after landing at DMK on an evening flight, before heading out of Bangkok the next day. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and I rested well. The staff were kind and responsive, they replied quickly to my inquiries via Booking.com messages. There was plenty of parking, the internet was fast, and I was able to do a short Zoom call without any issues. The hotel is about a 30–40 minute drive from DMK Airport and close enough to Bangkok that I could enjoy dinner at my favorite restaurant before heading in. The surrounding area is a typical local Thai neighborhood, but once you enter the resort it feels like stepping into a different world. For my purpose, I really enjoyed staying here, and it was a good decision that was worth every baht.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and the bed was comfortable. The pool was lovely.

The location wasn't great. The hotel was quite isolated and it was too far to walk anywhere. Had to get taxis.

Very relaxing location and very attentive staff

Prachtig luxe hotel. Goed ontbijt. Heerlijk rustige locatie. Ver van de drukte. Voor ons in dit geval een bewuste keuze.

Airco te krachtig. Valt niet af te stellen. Douche ook lastig af te stellen. Dan weer koud, dan weer bloedheet. Eten en drinken nogal prijzig. Personeel lijkt niet allemaal het Engels machtig te zijn.
