"My experience"

6.0

Hotel is clean and nice service but the beds are so stiff and bumpy, I wasn’t able to get comfortable fully. The water park is clean but definitely could be cleaner especially the older part of the water park and the slides. The water park was very nice though had different water attractions for all ages.

"This could be a really nice attraction but the water is FREEZING cold. Even the "hot" tub was barely luke warm. We left after "

"Hard pass, we won't be back."

2.0

We recently visited Grand Country Waterpark, and I’ve honestly gone back and forth on whether to write this—but our experience was concerning enough that it feels worth sharing. The biggest issue for our family was the water. Within a short time of being in the pools, our eyes were burning—not just mild irritation, but enough that it was hard to enjoy ourselves. It immediately made me question the water quality and how it’s being maintained. What really pushed this from uncomfortable to alarming, though, was that my son developed a rash all over his legs after spending time in both the pool and the hot tub, and we ended up taking him to the pediatrician. As a parent, that’s not something you take lightly, and it’s definitely not something we’ve experienced at other waterparks. There were also a few moments that didn’t exactly inspire confidence—my husband noticed a hair extension floating through the wave pool, and the lifeguards seemed fairly disengaged and inconsistent when it came to enforcing rules. We came in expecting a fun, low-stress family outing, but left saying we'd never go back. Between the burning eyes and my son’s reaction afterward, it’s hard not to question whether the water conditions are being properly managed.

"Lifeguards ruined the trip! Don’t waste your money!"

2.0

We unfortunately would not recommend staying here. While the room itself was fine and the initial front desk staff were very kind, that was the highlight of our experience. Check-in was extremely frustrating—it took over an hour just to get our room key, even though we had already completed the full check-in process earlier in the day. There didn’t seem to be any system in place to move guests through efficiently. Many people in line were in the same situation, and having a separate line for those who had already checked in would have made the process much smoother for everyone. The waterpark experience was extremely disappointing. While we fully understand and appreciate the importance of safety rules, the enforcement felt excessive. Many of the lifeguards were overzealous and power hungry, blowing their whistles for every little thing, which made the environment feel more stressful than enjoyable. I’m not sure why they chose to work somewhere with a lot of children when they clearly do not enjoy being around them. The measurement system was inconsistent and created unnecessary frustration. Our child measured at 48 inches on multiple tape measures beforehand, but was told he did not meet the requirement because he just reached the line and did not exceed the line. To add to the frustration, the measurement at the other entrance showed a different height, suggesting inconsistency between measuring stations. When we asked for clarification, management was not particularly helpful or accommodating. Overall, aside from one friendly lifeguard, we did not find the level of hospitality we expected. This could be such a great place for families with some changes, unfortunately we will NOT be coming back.

"Boycott"

2.0

I hope everybody boycotts this place. I'm a disabled combat veteran. I took my family on a vacation here to find out there is no handicap accessibility at all. the water park has no handicap accommodations. There was only 2 handicap parking spots at the hotel. With all the amenities they have here, none of it has handicap accommodation. If you have any physical restrictions, I definitely would not recommend this place. If you're pro american who supports the military especially those who were injured from their duties to this country, I hope you support boycotting Grand Country Resort. I tried to speak with management and the owner about the problems I encountered, and I was informed, they don't speak to nobody unless they know you. I left them my phone number and never reached out to me. Shame on the management and owner for ignoring guest concerns

This was the first visit for my great grandkids (ages 3/5). They had an absolute blast! Perfect place to go when the weather is cold or inclement. Food was excellent and the wait time was short.

"Mixed Experience"

6.0

We stayed at The Grand Country Resort this past weekend and overall it was a mixed experience. The front desk staff was exceptional—very thorough, professional, and genuinely welcoming from check-in to check-out. The Grand Country Buffet was also a highlight. Our waiter was super friendly, attentive, and quick—we never had to ask for anything because he was already on top of it. Unfortunately, the water park life guards were the downside of our stay. Several came across as rude and not kid-friendly at all, which really took away from the experience for families with children. Safety is important, of course, but the delivery could have been much more respectful and welcoming.
