East Mount House

Excellent breakfast. Use of lounge, plus able to eat take out food in the restaurant on an evening. 20min walk into town centre ( fast pace). Local bar within a few mins walk that serves food and a good fish and chip shop. Hosts very sociable.

The host is very attentive and helpful. The breakfasts were both generous and superb. Our room was large and very bright and airy with an ensuite shower and toilet. There is a fridge in the breakfast room for the use of guests, a very thoughtful touch.

The owner was very friendly and accommodating. There is a fridge and microwave available for use in the breakfast room so it's great for guests on a budget. The room was comfortable with a good choice of pillows! I was concerned about the location on the main road because I am a light sleeper, but when I contacted the owner after booking she said she could put me in a room further away from the road. This plus the very effective double glazing meant I had a great night's sleep both nights! Although the guest house is a little out of the centre there's a Co-Op, a 24hr garage and a pub a couple of minutes up the main road, and Furness Abbey is also within walking distance. It was perfect for my short stay, good value for money and I would go back if I was visiting Barrow-in-Furness again.

Excellent location. Good car parking space. Comfortable room with quality shower. Breakfast was cooked to order every day and was everything I wanted. Hosts were fantastic and made sure everything was spot on.

Excellent breakfast cooked to order. The lady who owns East Mount is very welcoming and friendly.

Rachel and partner/husband were excellent hosts. Very knowledgeable about the area and very accommodating (I am vegan and my fiancé isn't). Rates were great with breakfast included and probably the best mushrooms I've ever had lol. We arrived late (just after 11) which was no problem for our hosts and after we'd climbed Scafell Pike were directed towards other scenic climbs with great views. Overall value for money cannot be beaten 😊
