Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good.

Did not get the room I booked. I booked a room with one double and one single bed and got a room with only one double. We were given a camp bed to put up in the room which was not suitable for an adult. Not sure who was at fault, the hotel or booking.com as my dispute has failed to give a satisfactory explanation. We had little option but to stay as arrived on the Dave Day ride and knew little would be available in the area. On payment we were knocked £5 off and have since been credited a further £14 from booking.com.

Good parking, fabulous staff, great shower. Quiet room, nice and clean throughout and a smashing breakfast.

On main road, but with the good double glazing it was very quiet.

Excellent breakfast. Use of lounge, plus able to eat take out food in the restaurant on an evening. 20min walk into town centre ( fast pace). Local bar within a few mins walk that serves food and a good fish and chip shop. Hosts very sociable.

The host is very attentive and helpful. The breakfasts were both generous and superb. Our room was large and very bright and airy with an ensuite shower and toilet. There is a fridge in the breakfast room for the use of guests, a very thoughtful touch.

The owner was very friendly and accommodating. There is a fridge and microwave available for use in the breakfast room so it's great for guests on a budget. The room was comfortable with a good choice of pillows! I was concerned about the location on the main road because I am a light sleeper, but when I contacted the owner after booking she said she could put me in a room further away from the road. This plus the very effective double glazing meant I had a great night's sleep both nights! Although the guest house is a little out of the centre there's a Co-Op, a 24hr garage and a pub a couple of minutes up the main road, and Furness Abbey is also within walking distance. It was perfect for my short stay, good value for money and I would go back if I was visiting Barrow-in-Furness again.
