"Fabulous views over the caldera"

10.0

This is the best area to stay in Santorini, Imerovigli, on the cliff, as it is the highest spot in the island. The views are fabulous, and this is what you pay for. You can see all round the caldera. The light is ever changing, and sunsets are fabulous. The hotel is built along the cliff over 5-6 levels, so, as with everywhere on the cliff, there are lots of steps. We had help with our bags without asking, and Christos also arranged taxis for us from the hotel. There is a small pool at the top of hotel with amazing views, a café and restaurant also with amazing views. Breakfast was included, continental. We had room 11, shared balcony next to the walkway to Skaros rock, so a little noisy at times, and room 14 above. Lovely rooms with AC and fridge. No plugs in bath, a common feature in Greece. Bring a universal sink plug. There is a slight waft of sulphur from time to time, this is from the volcano opposite and nothing to do with the hotel plumbing! I would come here again. Recommend Kapari restaurant for special meal out.

"It's just an Ok hotel"

8.0

Staff were friendly and nice. The first night the entire room smelt like raw sewage and was very difficult to sleep. Bathroom had incomplete parts to it such as a light fitting not attached over bath and a weird cable/ fixture coming out of the ground near the toilet and bath. No private balcony and pictures online are deceiving in what will get. For the money paid to stay here ( which was a crazy amount for three nights), I expected more from the room and bathroom. It's a lovely area out of town but if you want a large bedroom with a complete bathroom, private balcony and no smell I would stay somewhere else nearby.

"nice hotel with a bomb view"

8.0

This hotel was better than what I expected! The room was nice, staff was nice, always willing to help! The men were at your beckon call with luggage because throughout the hotel it's a million steps lol! They provide breakfast which was good but it's the same thing everyday,I didn't mind. They also have discounts on surrounding restaurants like Blue Note which was to DIE for! They have a pool,it's a tad small but it does the job! I would stay again

"Very disappointed in hotel. "

4.0

Another couple and my husband and I booked rooms for 9 days. We were both shown rooms that were awful but had beautiful views. My husband and my room was 9 feet by 15 feet long. The bathroom had chipped paint and looked very outdated. Our friend's room had a bedroom upstairs that you had to use stairs that were like a ladder to get up to the bedroom. We did complain to the manager who did move us to other rooms the next day so it was better but still not great for what we were paying. The new rooms had a great balcony but bathrooms had broken exposed spouts in bathtub with mold. We were each paying $300 a night. We have stayed in Santorini before so we know what to expect. And this was not up to standards for the price. There was no sense of hospitality from manager or owner. We had stayed at The Altana years ago so we know what hospitality is. There was no effort to make sure we were happy. A beautiful view does not make up for simple amenities that guests should expect. No extra decor , just the basics. The breakfast we had paid for consisted of canned peaches, yogurt, bread and hard boiled eggs. The wait staff and others were friendly and kind and very hard working. Bottom line is a great view does not make up for a very basic outdated room. Look for hotels in Santorini that have both!

"Perfect spot in Santorini"

8.0

We really liked the area that it was in Imerovigli, high on the cliff with fantastic views. Way too many steps for us, we are not very fit lol! Breakfast was nice served to us every morning.

"Avoid this Dirty Hotel"

2.0

Don't book this hotel. A "staff" room was sold to us as economy room, not cheap. Take a look at the photos. The hotel is grossly misrepresented on all trace sites. Total fraud! The room is located right next to hotel's laundry and garbage room. Room is also located on the heavy tourist walkway, so all day long people walk over your window. The window doesn't have a glass, just a net, and when you close it you will realize how depressing and dark it is inside. It is so dark in the bathroom that you will never know how clean or dirty it is there, but when you look around the room you will come to conclusion it's dirty in the barthroom as well. Stained bedding, ancient furniture belongs to garbage - long time overdue. There is no safe box in the room and you have to carry all your valuables around. Hotel doesn't provide drinkin water, not even a small bottle not even glass of water at the arrival. For comparison all hotels I stayed in in Greece offer you water and welcome bottle of wine (all 6 hotels I stayed in Greece did it!) When you ask for restaurant recommendation receiptionist will only suggest hotel's sister restaurant and will say there are many more you are free to try. We moved to another hotel the same day and didn't receive money back. Not sure how they even can advertise this "staff quarters" and sell it on Expedia. It's a fraud! No way this hotel has three stars. Very inappropriate and disappointed with Expedia!

"Beautiful view, room not so much."

6.0

The view from Spiliotica is undeniably pretty. We had a room with a great view as well. The team is very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special, including decorating our room with flower petals, etc. for our anniversary. I wish I could say we were impressed with the room itself. The bathroom was not very clean and had an odor that lingered. We kept the door closed and purchased air freshener at the local store to try to combat this. The sheets also felt "sticky" and unclean. We put down beach towels to sleep peacefully. Finally, some of our towels had small stains (some that looked like blood) on them. For the amount of money we spent, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a clean, odor-free bathroom, clean sheets and clean towels. The hotel is older, but older can be well-kept and clean.

"Not as advertised. Impossible to stay."

2.0

I'm not making this up ... this is really what my wife and I experienced. The greeting of tankers pumping sewage from cesspools was an ominous sign. Steep uneven steps, many steps, no railings. Check in reception office is small room with cluttered desk a ceiling height less than 70 inches...I had to crouch. Rooms are caves, literally. Ancient bathroom tub and fixtures. Broken light fixtures. Inadequate lighting in bathroom. Pushed out screen on window. Stained pillows. Poor bedding. No furniture. Incompetent service staff and bartender in small outside eating area. Food was awful. This place was not as advertised or comparable to Expedia pictures and certainly not worth the $255 per night plus tax. It was uncomfortable, dangerous and noisy. After 2 hours of contemplating our dilemma, fatigued from a long day of travel by ferry from Mykonos, my wife and I started calling other properties and found a solution. We checked out by evening and never spent the night. I hope Expedia will refund our 2 night purchase. However, I must say that the property my wife and I found on our own was as close to paradise that I have ever been. Happy travels!
