Lovely, cosy, private - great to have the pub just across the yard for lovely food and drink

The location was excellent! Staff were absolutely amazing, so hospitable and the entire experience was 10/10.

I can’t think of anything to improve on

This is the second time we have stayed at The Holcombe and the second time I have wrote a review as it deserves the praise for yet again a stunning stay. Feel free to read my review from August 2020 on Tripadvisor. As the owners have kept the standard the same and somehow have elevated it even more which I didn’t think could be possible! This time we stayed in the actual Inn rather than outside in the chalet and we had Room Number 7 which was stunning. Comfortable bed, roll top bath and shower. Homemade cookies which were off the chain and I gave feedback on how amazing there were and on the Saturday morning another 2 turned up at my door (thank you). All the rooms are set at such high standards and when we return we will look forward to staying in a different one. The food was just as I remembered. Sensational and worth every penny. I believe that the pricing is perfectly inline with the high quality of food that you will receive. We both had the Chicken on the first night and I had the Duck on the second night and my fiancé had the Scallops. Please look at the pictures it showcases the attention to details for each dish and again some stunning canapés were presented to us on the house. Lovely touch! Breakfast was incredible as always you will walk away feeling wholesome and full. All ingredients are freshly sourced from their gardens that they maintain themself and will serve you vegetables that are in season from there. Such a wonderful idea and it makes The Holcombe what they are a 5* dinning experience. If I could I would eat here every weekend but unfortunately we are a little too far away for that. The hosts Alan, Caroline & Truffle are amazing and again we would come back just for them. They spent the time they had to engage us, make us feel comfortable and no request was an issue. They really are delightful and even when I asked constant questions (I’m an ADHDer) they were happy to talk to me and give me the time.

We stayed in the Barlake lodge, the weather was very wet and windy outside, but with the log burner on we had a very cosy stay
