Great Danes Country Inn

Owner would not allow us to check in/leave our luggage before stated in check in time. Only continental breakfast provided and served in a very haphazard/small area.

Nothing we didn't like. Homely atmosphere, good food, friendly people

The landlord was so helpful and we had a great stay.

The b&b is a well run place in the middle of nowhere Swaffham. We had a lovely, comfortable and clean room. There was a really great selection of foods at breakfast and even a hot breakfast option for a little extra. Very satisfied.

Checked in at 6pm. Owner clearly expecting us and took us quickly to our room. Comfortable room. Spacious bathroom. Good wi-fi. No information about breakfast/dining arrangements. We had intended to eat in but 2 grizzling children in the dining area put us off. No sign of the owner anyway. Breakfast p!dutiful but completely he!p yourself. Brief appearance of the owner, no other guests! Cooked breakfast would have cost an extra £7.50 each and had to be ordered the previous night. We rummaged in the cupboards to locate items and felt rather uncomfortable. Strange to find an exercise machine in the middle of the dining area. Convenient location certainly no warm welcome. Doors locked, no sign of the bar trading for the local community. Strange experience for a country inn.

Really quiet location with great room and food

A great find if you want peace and tranquillity. As it's an inn you could eat in the evenings as well without having to drive and the food was superb. My husband reckons it's the best steak and ale pie he's had and the whitebate was superb. We'll stay again if we're in the area.

Basic B&B, room and bathroom good. Didnt find hosts particularly friendly and at breakfast even have to set table yourself and make own tea & coffee.
